BPPV ? Severe vertigo

Hi all
Just looking for advice, or just empathy I guess!!
Last December, I had a sudden attack of Vertigo after standing up from sitting for a while - room spinning so much i couldn't even stand up. It lasted about 10 minutes and left me with, what i now know is called pulsating tinnitus. I phoned the docs, they were concerned about the pulsating in my ear and sent me to A&E ... after spending a night in the waiting room, I eventually had a MRI scan with dye, to check no veins were broken (sure it was a more technical term than that!) all was fine.
A few months later it happened again, this time i awoke with it and it lasted about 30 minutes, leaving me feeling nauseous and the pulsating tinnitus.
Over the last few months, I could feel it coming on again - room dropping, or suddenly spinning, but i found out if i shook my head almost violently, it would go. In the last week or 2, I'd noticed it happening more often and being joined with me almost falling over when i got out of bed in the morning, so i decided to go to the Docs. They checked my ears (all fine) and gave me Betahistine tablets and referred me to an ENT.
Then .... Friday night I was woken around 1am with the most severe vertigo, even lying in the dark with my eyes closed and just moving my arm would make the room spin. I panicked and called 111 .... doc called back and was no help at all, just said keep taking the tablets, and try the Brandt Dorff exercises. Eventually i got up the courage to do those, which didn't help (but did get me throwing up!). So I took some mild sleeping tablets and tried to sleep the day away. Each time I woke it was about 5% better, to get to this stage Monday morning, where I can do some work as long as I don't move my head too much.
I'm still taking the tabs and doing the Brandt dorff exercises, but now have a feeling of pressure in my ear and the normal ringing tinnitus mixed with the pulsating tinnitus.
Is this something someone else has experienced? Will it go away? God knows how long I'll have to wait for my ENT referral.
I'm generally a happy go lucky person, no anxiety etc, but this is starting to get me down now.
Any advice, words of encouragement, greatly accepted!
