Brain Cyst

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've recently been suffering the menopause symptoms, raging hot flushes, dizzy spells & not feeling good had all. I had tingling down left hand side of my face, near temple, recently had an MRI and found out I have a brain cyst. So I'm not too happy at the moment & waiting for neurosurgeon appointment. I know it's not specifically menopause related but I just wondered if anyone has ever had the same concern. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance outside of the doctors surgery 😟

Hi rstep, sorry just got in from work (I work 4pm until 1am - new job just started). I felt ok today but now my head is sore - tends to go that way when I'm tired & need sleep. My father in law had brain cyst & he got it removed but only through private med insurance - he said they do have a tendancy to grow back but smaller. You sound like you've really been suffering - its bad enough with the Peri, nevermind the cyst as well. I think having plenty of rest & relaxation helps but this isn't always possible. Lets hope we both feel better soon x

I will be pulling for you, medical technology is really good. I have hot flashes, I have had issues with cysts it seems to be genetic. But, my cousin had cysts and they took good care of him, he is fine now.

Thanks for posting because we often ignore things when we chalk them up to peri or menopause, I am going to the dr. Wed because of the massive amount of symptoms to get it checked out.

I think you're right Lennie, although we don't want to keep going to the doc's I think we have to check out all these things. Its just getting a good doctor who will help and not just keep putting it down to anxiety of hormones. I had a few episodes of dizziness, thinking I was going to fall over and horrible sensations in my head. I'm now waiting for neurosurgery appointment, but it's difficult putting up with the sore head, plus the hot flushes. I was in A&E twice and the doctor there ignored me and spoke to my husband, telling him it was anxiety and I needed a Pyhsciatrist! (sorry about the spelling) - charming.

My current doctor is more understanding and assured me I wasn't going mad, which is nice.

Anyhow off to bed to rest my weary head.

Oh on a lighter note - a teacher I knew at school had 3 cysts on her head and she used to tell her students they were knowledge lumps (now there's a thought)

I hate going to the doctor, I constantly cancel appointments because of anxiety, but I really have to go to address many issues. My uncle has a great philosophy about it, he said look this is not 1925, the medical technology is really good and unless you are really in horrible shape they can do a lot to help you nowawadays, I guess the scary part is what if I am in horrible shape,. LOL, but I like the teacher who said knowledge lumps,. I am sure you will be fine.

That's funny Lennie - I think my shape may be questionable!!

When I eventually went to the Doc's the other day my husband told me to write down all my symptoms in order of intensity and occurence. This was a good idea and it really helped me explain how I really felt to the Doctor, as usually I just blurt everything out and talk my self out of the issue.

Good luck with your visit, just think if you were a car you'd go to a garage to keep all your parts in order. So why not get your monies worth out of the doc.

      Take Care xx

I like your husband's idea of writing everything down too, because I tend to ramble at the doctors office too. Good idea and yes, if I were a car I wonder if the owner would decide its time to trade me in because I have too many miles and too much wrong with me.  LOL
