Brain dead after being depressed?

Posted , 2 users are following.

For about 5 years or so I have been rapid cycling. Get depressed about 4 or 5 times a year then after month (that depends on how I am doing sometimes longer) I go back to normal self. Psychiatrist reckons could be a mild form of cyclothima or just depression. Won't label it. Anyway my question is I am feeling pretty good at the moment but I am always brain dead. I know otscommon during deppression but having it after is a mystery to me.

Is used to bequite bright remembering things for my degree in exams but now I can't. I have got my degree and work in a stock room. I struggle to remember codes and images of products. The worst ones are when I need my postcode and forget a digit in it. Never used too. Can't plan a step ahead either as brain doesn't seem to think like that anymore I.e go for a walk but it might rain. So put shoes on and walk out the door forgetting rain coat. Litterally seconds in thinking of something I forget. Any one got any advice or have this?

if I may be so bold as to ask your age and if you are on any medication I sometimes forget a lot because I know I am 70 and I'm on Klonopin which gives you short term memory loss but I'm not quite sure what you are saying about brain-dead is it just a terminology or do you just feel like a zombie sometimes or all the time might depend on your age and if you're on medication I tried antidepressants and they made me feel totally zombiefied

      Hiya

I am 28 and on no medication now. I really can't explain what I mean. It's not zomibefied more like lack of concentration and information not being 'processed' in my head. Takes me a good three times or so to understand something. Another Is I will talk and forget what I am on about and can take me ages to think what my point was. All's I am saying is iS that I have noticed a change in my memory. Never been like this before.
