Brain fog, dizziness, vision problems, head pressure, headache PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone!

I don't know where else to go, and was hoping someone could please help me. I'll start off by saying I'm a 23 year old Caucasian female. Going on 5 months now, I have had absolutely debilitating symptoms which have hindered my daily life. I feel these symptoms every moment of every day.

It started with dizziness and a persistent brain fog. I just thought I had a bug, and tried to go on about my life. However, my symptoms have never gone away. This "brain fog" I am talking about is a feeling of complete mental confusion, I have no memory, I cannot concentrate on anything, it feels like there's a dark blanket on my brain clouding all my thoughts. I have extreme disorientation and haziness. I feel like I'm always in a dream like state.

I am constantly dizzy and feel a pulling sensation, as if I'm ready to fall over at any moment. It feels like there's air inside my head, and I'm always very lightheaded. Whenever I try to drive I feel this pulling sensation pulling me down.

Another problem I have is with my vision. I am having very blurred vision and have double vision. Everytime I look at something up close it is extremely blurry and I cannot see at all. My perception on things has completely changed. I feel like everything looks very odd and strange and I don't have the right depth perception. It's like I'm in a horrible dream like state all the time.

I have been having headaches and head pressure as well, and having horrible pains behind my eyes. The pin starts from the back of my head close to my neck and continues up my head and the sides of my temples. My eyes hurt so bad, and it feels like knives are jabbing my eyes. My head also feels extremely heavy all the time.

All these symptoms have been causing me severe anxiety, and I have been having panic attacks from them and feel like I'm dying. It is causing a strange disrespity sensation, where I feel like I'm not even here anymore and there's a detachment from myself and my body. I have had to drop all my classes at college and quit my job because these symptoms make me lay in bed all day long. I have been unable to drive for months and can barely get up to walk around. If anyone could please help me or know anything as a suggestion to try.

I have been to my general doctor, 2 ENTs, 1 neurologist, have had 2 MRIs, a hearing test, VNG, multiple blood tests, and no one knows what is wrong. I can't live like this anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Elise,

I suffers too with the same symptoms for the past a year and two months now, I am 50 years old, I cannot tell how is affected me very bad at the begging it was just dizziness and nothing else.

It comes like am fairing but am not.

After I had so many other health issue back, neck and stomach ache all the time.

I had so many blood test and MRI scans all comes back normal my first blood test was only Vitamin D very low I thought this is was I take medication it will balnce my body and I will fine but unfortunately not, my symptoms keeps changing all the time and start getting like seizures gets cold and body start shaking for few minutes and am fine after that for the last 6 months I have permanent symptoms, like you describing it I have seen so many different specialists Dr 2ENT, 2 Neurologist and cardiologist all said anxiety but me I don't believes I have it so I had to push for 3 opinion ENT and that's is where the surgeon send me for Balance test and my audiologist said is my balance which causing all this and I am waiting to see my ENT in September to see what treatment am going to have but the audiologist said I need to exercise to bring back the balance.

    I never suffers from

My ears and the dizziness is definitely is something to do with the inner ear.

Before I couldn't drive, cannot go out shopping, see my friends or anything my life change completely but now I come back to work and start pushing my self and I start driving too, i still have the heaviness in my head and my ears are full but am better then it was.

An other thing I start going to Chinese for acupuncture which started last week Nd give treatment for 4 weeks including the herbes 🌿 which you drink it like fresh tea every day and start to help a bit, the Chinese Dr sais I have toxic in my body that's is causing the balance in my body, plus minopausing that all affect the body too.

I hope that is give you an idea and please keep pushing with your GP you are not losing anything.

    I wish you quick recovery.

Hi sab!!! I’m so glad the audiologist found what was going on! What balance disorder do you have? Was it from vestibular neuritis and infection?

I’ve heard really good things about accupuncture! Have you started the vestibular exercises yet?

      Hi Elise,

I am not sur what balance disorders I have, is only the Audiologist told me which I have some kind of balance disorders.

I am seeing my ENT in September so he can tell me which one is and what treatment I will get.

For the exercise yes i did start at home but makes me very dizzy, but the Audiologist said the more you exercise and you gets dizzy the quicker you recover.

i started the Chinese acupuncture once a week for a month my second appointment is tomorrow and drinking the herbes every day like fresh tea see what happen.

I will let you know once I see my ENT.

Please let me know what is your experience so far what treatment are you getting.

      Take care .

      Sab 💐

Oh okay! Thank you so much for your help ☺️☺️ I had started vestibular therapy and visual therapy! I’ve had soooo many diagnoses and one was a visual convergence disorder where my eyes aren’t working together.

I’m trying to get in to see a functional neurologist but they’re sooooo far booked it will take a while to get in.

I’ve tried difffernrt medications for it but none have really helped except Xanax as benzos are vestibular and central nervous system depressants. It didn’t make me 100% by any means, it just helped the constant swirling sensation and eye strains just s bit where I felt a little bit better. I’m still on it but want to get off, I’m not a fan of benzos
