Brain Fog That is Affecting My EVERYDAY life!!!

Hi everyone,

My name is Andrew and I am 27. I came to this forum because I don’t know what else to do... I’ve came across similar forums, but none were exactly what I am dealing with.  It all started July of 2015. I was working in the warehouse at work, down stacking a skid when I became very lightheaded. At first I thought I was dehydrated, so I sat down and drank a bunch of water. It lasted for a few hours then went away. The following day, same exact thing. From there I went to an urgent care facility not to far away. He said I need to eat breakfast. Well that wasn’t it. Me having OCD and always thinking the worst I went in for an MRI. Everything looked good! It lasted till Feb of 2016 and then went away till October of 2016, where it came back full swing. It has not left since.

I have seen so many specialists and have had almost every test my doctor could think of done, I literally don’t know what else to do.

My symptoms include: Severe brain fog, memory loss, mixing up my words, have to reread something 5-6 times to understand what it it is saying, forgetting names of people I have known for 5 years, forgetting my sense of direction, eyes feel like they are stuck where it takes a few seconds to look at something else, mood swings, lack of sex drive, I feel like I am in a dream most of the time or high on weed, anxiety and depression comes with this because I feel like I am getting no where.

I am on medication for anxiety and that is the only thing that milds whatever this is out, but does NOT take it away. This is very frustrating and just when I think I may have found something and get tested everything looks good.. I’m thankful, but at the same time want answers.

Things that makes symptoms more severe.. coffee, wearing a hat, staring at a computer and bright lights.

I am getting married in less than 3 weeks and I can’t even be my old normal self. I used to be very smart and always had a great memory. Now I forget stuff so easily.

If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE let me know! Thank you for taking time to read this long message.. I look forward to your replies!!!!

    Hi Andrew,

I feel your pain. I've had the same symptoms for the past 4 years with no relief. The only thing that has helped me is having my c1 vertebra adjusted by a chiropractor. The adjustments have by no means cured me but they do help to lessen the brain fog and anxiety.

It's the most frustrating thing in the world to have a brain that's foggy, slow and forgetful. Especially when I think of how sharp my memory was in the past. There's times when the fog gets so bad I feel disconnected to my body. Sometimes I feel like I'm an empty shell with no soul.

Sorry to be so depressing. I'm just trying to relate that brain fog can really screw up a once happy life.

    I'm 21 years old.

Josh I totally understand what you are saying and can so relate. I was going to a chiropractor, but didn’t notice a difference unfortunately . I do have a reverse curve in my neck and I read one forum where the lady said she knew someone that had something similar and it was pinching a nerve, I had testing done and all my nerves looked good... It’s really frustrating especially when you try to explain it to someone and they think you are just making it up, but they don’t realize the hell everyday can be. You should look into depersonalization/derealization. Does that sound like what you are dealing with? I am trying to be my own advocate, but like I said I don’t know where else to go... I am not sure if you are religious, but one thing that has helped me tremendously is having a supportive church and just reading the Bible. He has spoken a lot to me in the scriptures. It’s the only peace of mind I can get.

      Hi,

Have you found any answers? Please message me because I think I finally found out what is wrong with me, but it took me seeing many specialists and there are so many people out there that suffer from this with no answers. I am hoping I can help people seek the correct professionals.

I have CIRS and have all of the symptoms you have listed plus more. Have you had your cortisol or c4a checked? These are a couple of the markers. There is a full symptom checklist online to give you an idea if this could be causing your problems also.

I have not been checked for these. Something I will have to look into more! Thank you!!

Your symptoms sound like Biotoxin Illness. Most bloodwork with this illness will be negative unless you know what to have checked. This illness can cause brain fog, dizziness, chest pain, headaches, feeling of swelling inside your head, stomach problems, memory problems, light sensitivity, difficulty finding words, strange spots/rashes, intolerance to cold, mood swings etc. It effects many systems in the body. An mri will detect it if it is ordered with neuroquant(which most are not). It is difficult finding a knowledgeable doctor, many will diagnose patients with everything else or tell you your bloodwork is normal so you are fine. The bloodwork that will show abnormalities are...cortisol, mmp9, c4a, c3a, leptin, adh(Im sure there are others I am forgetting at the moment). Starting treatment for this illness is binders(Cholestyremine or Welchol). Best of Luck!
