Hiya, I had brain surgery for Chiari just under 3 years ago. I have no idea if this will be the same for you, but I found I had brain 'zaps" or 'spasms' a few weeks after too. For me, I worked out that it was the withdrawal from the strong pain meds they had been giving me (Tramadol and Morphine). Once I had completed withdrawal it settled down. I have found that since then, I am affected every time I have a drop in my meds, where sometimes I need the stronger pain killlers. It gets me every time!
Like I say, I don't know if this will be the same for you, but maybe try to work out if there is a link? Have you been taking strong pain meds?
If you're worried, it may be worth calling/emailing your Neurosurgeon just for reassurance. They will be able to tell you if it is anything to worry about. Hope you're ok .
