Brain tumor like symptoms...

Hi everyone. It’s been months since my last post, as my anxiety seemed to be subsiding. Tonight, I have a fear, and some reassurance that someone has experienced what I’m feeling before would be so helpful. First, a little background information about myself. Almost two years ago, I watched my husband pass away, about a year after this happened I started developing weird symptoms. I went to our local emergency room five times scared I was having a heart attack. I talked with my family doctor, and to be on the safe side, I did a 24 hour holster monitor, I’ve had countless EKGs, blood tests, and I’ve even had a heart echo, and a stress test. All came back wonderful. Since I received the news that everything was okay, it was like the “heart attack symptoms” just went away. Since then, I’ve developed what I call “brain tumor symptoms.” My head always hurts on the right side of my head. It’s sometimes around my eye, but is a the base of my head at my neck also. I get these weird dizzy symptoms. My right eye sometimes twitches for days on end. I’ve began having twitches/ pins and needles in my left calf muscle, and I feel like my neck is always stiff. I know this is likely just my body playing tricks on me, as I have been diagnosed with anxiety, but I am scared to death, and would like an opinion, or some reassurance from someone who has been through the same thing. I should also add that this has been going on for a year. I had a field test done by my eye doctor who reported to my family doctor that there was “no sign of neurological defects.” Please, please someone tell me that my mind is playing tricks on my again, and it’s just a coincidence that Google is showing my stmptoms match up with that of a brain tumor.

You could know for sure if you asked for MRI, but those are all symptoms that can occur with anxiety alone. The eye twitching is extremely common with stress and anxiety. Mine does it from time to time. Usually always my right one. The stiffness in your neck is common from worry and stress, and neck stiffness can cause headaches and even vertigo/dizziness in some people. For me it almost feels like I'm suddenly falling over when it gets too bad. A good massage will do you wonders for all of that, if you can manage it. Also Dr. Google is the absolute worst doctor. Try not to use that self-diagnose or you'll end up with every disease in the book, haha.

Your sysmtoms sound like mine. I was recently diagnosed with chronic migraines. I have had weird head pressure and dizziness. Had a CT scan it showed sinusitis. Then had a brain MRI it just showed I have chronic migraines. My doctor gave me a prescription for migraine pill didn't help me at all so I started taking magnesium for the migraines they say it may take up to 3 months to show any relief until it gets in your system. My grandpa had a brain tumor. That's why I thought for sure they would find something on my scans. My head feels so messed up everyday. I either feel brain fog, severe dizziness, head pressure or some kind of tension headache. Plus I have body weakness and palpitations...

Hi. I am going through the same thing right now. I have anxiety and I am currently under a lot of stress.I am taking online classes and it's taking a toll on me.After this semester I am taking minimum classes. But I started last month having a twitch on and off in my head.I had a fear of catching the flu and trying to avoid it.And wouldn't u no it I caught it and walking pneumonia.Thank God I didn't feel to sick.So now for about 3 days I have been having numbness and tingling all over on and off everyday. One side of my head was hurting but has stopped.I can still feel some pain on that side when I yawn.I have been to the doc so much for this anxiety and I am tired of it controlling my life.I have had these pains before in my head. Also muscle spasm and pain in my neck on that side. If u need reassurance go get it checked out.But hon, if this has been going on for a year I don't think it's nothing but the ugly face of stress and anxiety. It's unbelievable what stress can do to your body.

First of all I am very sorry for the loss of your husband. Second, are you being treated for your anxiety? Have you been in therapy/counseling? If not I would highly suggest you do it asap. Start treating the anxiety, which is very capable of causing ALL your symptoms, and you will get some relief. It sounds to me like the death of your husband caused your anxiety to kick into overdrive. I have had anxiety probably my whole life, diagnosed over 20 years ago, but after my son died in 2009 everything got so much worse. I found an amazing doctor and was in regular therapy and with a combo of meds, I was "normal" again. I could function without feeling like I was dying every single day of my life, I went almost 3 years without seeing the inside of an emergency room, which is a lot for me. Grief is a huge trigger for anxiety so it is no wonder why your body is reacting the way it is. And yes I have had a lot of the symptoms you are having as well as a ton more. And it can all be from anxiety, if you haven't had a CT scan of your head, ask your doctor if you could do that to rule out anything to put your mind at ease but then you have to focus on how to accept those results when the come back normal. That is where the therapy comes in. Good Luck!!!

I was once a hypochondriac, I used to think everything was wrong. Truth is, it was all in my mind, there was nothing wrong with me. I suffer from anxiety like yourself and this makes you believe that everything is wrong. Even the symptoms you've mentioned are likely related to anxiety or even something else, something mild. e.g. a stiff neck could be due to posture.
It is natural that you will have this anxiety. I know what it's like to have a partner pass away. It hurts a lot but you have to remember that your life is not over. I bet for that first year you did everything you could to repress the emotions, anything to stop the thoughts. When you repress these thoughts they will come back eventually and usually worse than before. Accept the thoughts, watch them flow in and out of your mind and remember that you are not alone. So many people are suffering from anxiety and some don't even know it.
