Brain Tumour or just Hypochondria?

So a few weeks ago I went to see my GP to check somewhat of a hard, prominent lump on the back, lower side of my head (occipital lobe / base of skull) to which he felt it and told me he “thinks” it’s just a normal part of my skull’s structure. Yet, I’ve let my friends and family feel it and compare their own heads and no one seems to have any kind of similar lump on the base of their skulls. He basically sent me away and told me not to worry about it.... I also have a blind spot in my left eye... the lower, right half-side of my visual field is totally pitch-black blind... I drew a picture of my visual field for that eye and showed the GP this too... he told me to go to my optician. I googled my problem and came up with “Quadrantanopia” though its only in my left eye, not both... and I read this can potentially be caused by a brain tumour or some kind of lesion in the occipital lobe.. (where the lump seems to be located) I also have issues with regular migraines. How do I go about getting an MRI for it with an uninterested GP? If my optician refers me to a hospital opthamology dept, can they request an MRI? ...Do my symptoms sound like a reasonable cause for concern?
