Breakfast

What do people eat for breakfast?  If you give up/are watching carbs, I find breakfast the most difficult to deal with.  No toast, porridge, cereals of any sort, bacon, sausages, etc etc.

I was one of the lucky ones and LOST weight with PMR (10kgs).  Now I am lowering my dose of Pred (at present 5mgs) I have put on 4kgs in 3 months!!  I've never been excessively overweight but before Pred I was 11 stone (and at 5'6" that's too much) and as my OA is a really aggressive sort I don't think that would be advisable.

I can manage other meals, but breakfast?!?

I've had this always hungry disorder all my life, long before I was diagnosed with PMR so I haven't noticed getting any hungrier on Prednisone.   I got to tell you though, being hungry 24/7 for 65 years is not fun..

Poor Tony.  I had to laugh - 24/7 for 65 years!

Not a laughing matter for you though.  Do you know, I really do not know what hunger feels like.  I have always eaten because it was 'time'.  I was a skinny kid, a skinny adult - until I had children - I put on weight after that because I didn't exercise to take it off.  I did reach 11 stone at one time, which is too much for a person only 5'6" tall, but usually I have a very reasonable BMI.  I lost weight on Pred (1 1/2 stone).  Now I am reducing Pred and have put on about 10 pounds.  We're a funny lot, aren't we?

      All the best. Keep smiling.

Especially hard when you actually have to eat so its not like you can swear off food.  Oh my, that is no fun at all Tony...Constance, I envy you, been fighting chubbiness all my life. Ugh.
