breast and underarm tenderness.

Im a 46 year old female. over the last few weeks my left breast and underarm has become increasingly painful. Where the lymph gland meets breast tissue is very hard, rather than the usual supple tissue feel.

I have a hormone birth control UDI coil fitted (which for me means my periods are virtually nil, and this has been in place for approx 18months)

Pain has increased from tender / uncomfortable to quite sharp over the course of the last month.

Any ideas? Anti inflammatories are taking a bit of an edge off of it. (i have naproxen on script for issues with my knee).

    I had the same thing last year. I'm a male but have a family history of BRCA2. My mom had breast cancer twice. I was convinced it was cancer.

    After an ultrasound and a biopsy (for a small nodule found behind my nipple that was benign), it was determined to be muscular. I was treated with myofascial release therapy and the pain gradually went away.
