Breast pain

Yesterday, (Tuesday morning) I woke up to a very sore left breast. The pain is centered around my nipple, but only the center of the nipple and the left half of it. My breast itself feels okay, the only time I feel pain is when I press on or rub against my nipple. It is now Wednesday, and the amount of pain is the same. I noticed that the left half of my nipple feels stiff, as if there were something under it, and the outer rim of my nipple appears to be turning slightly red. The redness wasn't there yesterday, it started today and is minimal. I am 21yo, I use birth control pills to regulate my period, and I am worried because I have never experienced this kind of pain. I am expecting my period this week, I started spotting today. My right breast feels normal.

Is this something I should worry about?

    I forgot to include that my nipple gets slightly itchy, and the skin on my nipple looks normal still.
