Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

Thing is I haven't always had bb, so leads me to believe I somehow developed it and that also leads me to believe that if it just appeared as a symptom of something, then it's curable. I just can't pinpoint the source. The only thing I can think of that changed during the time period where I started to get comments was around the time if my life when something happened in my life that caused a lot of emotional stress on a constant day to day basis. What about you?

I'm having the same experience. I didn't notice my BB until 2011. I went to the ENT and they suggested I get my tonsils removed, so I. But I found out in 2012 that I had like 2 ulcers and real bad acid refux. They put me on many med's for the whole year and I still smell the poo smell every blue moon when I talk.

That's good that you have some sort of lead to where the source is coming from. I just have to make assumptions about myself and go from there. I thought maybe I had h pylori, but that turned out negative. All I know is that I never use to have bb. I've asked girls from my past and they said they never smelled bb from me. I look back now and realize it's been years since any girls found interest in me and I think I know why now. I did have a girlfriend recently but it was strictly long distance and online, so it worked out. Well, until she wanted to meet and I had to make up excuses why I couldn't. Finally, our relationship ended because of not only that but my frustration from my bb that led me to be bitter and angry and came out when I drank. And I drank because of th bb..lol. Life is full of paradoxes.

I noticed that my BB was noticeable when I drank as well. I don't know what that's about but the issue still may be with your stomach. Have you also been checked for diabetes, have you had your liver and kidney checked. That could cause the problems too. Also do you have any sinus issues? Like myself I have very bad sinus issues and when it's acting up I began to have excessive post nasal drip which is the mucus that's sits in the back of your throat and causes BB also a sinus infection will do it as well.

Yeah, I do think it's something with my stomach due to either emotional stress or I had another theory..it could possibly be from my silver fillings causing havoc on my gut. I thought about kidneys and liver as well, but wasn't quite sure if there's even a way to get those checked out..? I know I don't have diabetes, been checked for that. I do know I get dry mouth slit and my tongue never seems to be quite normal.

Betaine hci with pepsin at every meal. 1 capsule. 1 probiotic a day, and it has really helped me.

Finally it went through... I started doing this 4 days ago, and my breath has improved. Not cured or gone, but very much improved. Every day it gets better. I finally have hope after 8 years with BB.. Hopefully, this will help some one else on here too.

If you use brand names the post tends to get deleted or not approved. I'll try this when I can. This stuff tends to be costly.

It won't let me post the brand. If you private message me, I will give the exact names.

My probiotic was less than $17 for 120 capsules, and the HCI with pepsin was $10 for 120 count too. Good luck.. hope it helps you all too.

I havent always had it too infact I didnt even have morning breath, I could wake up in the morning and go to work without brushing(I dont do that though)I remember an old boyfriend telling me i smell good all the time no matter what time of day so to go from that to where I am today is mind boggling. The only thing I remember that happened when this all started was I had a life threatening operation done and it started immediately after that.i would give anything to have my old life back where am not stuck with this disease. After looking on the internet for a bad breath clinic and thent sent an email to a few, I got some replies back so am thinking of going to see of them this week, a few of them did suggest seeing their hygienist first.am just about trying anything.

Yeah I feel your pain. I was a very social person, now I'm constantly anxious around people and the only relief I get is when I'm home and I don't have to worry about people. I notice when I'm home my mouth doesn't feel as dry, I guess because I'm not stressing, so I try to stay relaxed as much as possible and accept my situation for what it is and know I can't get better til I just stop giving a crap. That's so crazy about your situation. What type of surgery did they do on you? How long ago was it? My seemed to have start after some emotional stress I went through and I remember my mouth always dry so that made me paranoid and then eventually I started getting comments ever so often. I'm not sure my smells constantly, but then again I do good not speaking directly in front of people while in closed doors.

Daniel, my smell is not constant now also. All the things you are taking is helping & eating super healthy helps reduce the acid in your stomach.

Do you know if u have a hernia or even a little acid reflux?

Do u lay down more than sit?

Do u have swollen tonsils but no tonsil stones?

do you eat on time? And drink enough water?

For me, I'm taking fiber, aloe vera, better probiotics, digestive enzymes. I can't post the name of the products.

the odor comes up when I don't eat on time, lay down for too long.

I've had friends smell the inside of my mouth & it doesn't stink.

No hernia, no acid reflux, I don't lay down more than the next person, I've never had any problems with my tonsils, I've checked for stones, but I seem fine there.

With me, it's more of excessive gas(digestive enzymes help) and I can't help but to relate the two, the passing of gas and the fart smell of my bb..I find it suspicious. Also, my persistent dry mouth along with stubborn oral thrush that comes and goes, but never really seems to totally go away. I've also experienced around the same time of my discovery of my sudden appearance of bb are these rashes that look like ringworms that come and go as well.

Daniel, all this Time I couldn't pass gas or burp until now with the fiber I drink. I have everything you just mentioned except for rashes.

What you mentioned is true that all this takes time. I used to be worse & I still can't wait to get home to find relief in dealing withthe public.

I hope we all get to the bottom of this.
