Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

Yeah, I don't think maybe there's really anything out there that can balance out your oral ecology just by taking some pill and that's it. What we all have in common is probably a compromised immune system. If our immune systems were intact, we wouldn't have these bad bacterias takin over, so I work on getting my immune system back intact through diet, meditation and changing the way I think(no stress).

You really are on to something.. yes my BB is worse during times of stress and when my immunity is down. I had cancer at a young age and that alone tells me how much my immune system sucks.

And mine didn't start until I went through chronic emotional stress. I'm not talking about everyday stress most people go through. On top of that I harbored it day in and day out for 6 years. Im better now since I have a more understanding of my suffering and I don't even stress no more. Now, it's more that I'm trying to reverse everything..patience..patience..patience.

Just to let everyone know if you don't know already, Doctors are idiots and they 'guess' a lot because they don't know the answers, that's why they call it 'practicing medicine'. Doctors will not admit their shortcomings and will just keep pushing you drugs because that's all they know how to do. You have to remember doctors(atleast in America) have zero education when it comes to nutrition. American doctors are great at physical trauma procedures but are complete morons when it comes to the body and diseases. They aren't trained to cure, they are trained to push drugs, there's no money in cures, but when it comes to bb they just have no knowledge.

Chris03274- At some point I was also told the same and also at some point I really strongly believed that silent reflux was the cause because it all just made sense but I was eventually dissapointed and so I ruled it out. I had a CT scan my sinuses are normal.

ria19343- I couldn't have put it better, overall it jst makes it hard to live and do basic things.

daniel28749- I used to think the same, I was so angry at doctor but only up until I realised that it is Our condition that is just too difficult to diagnose and doctors can only do so much to help they are not scientists.

Doctors won't admit their shortcomings though and they have no problem trying taking your money. In fact, science and the medical field do have a relationship. I see what you mean, but I don't think you understand what I'm talking about. Good luck.

Daniel28749- I understand you perfectly I'v experienced it. Some doctors care while some don't think BB is a serious illness, But at the end of the day they have proven to us that they can't help us, we should knw because we've tried everything either alone or with their help. I'v had a doctor who worked overtime and tried his utmost best to help me, she is a GI&Physician iv also had a very caring ENT who did everything in his power. They all are saddened that they can't help but I can't be mad at them I'm mad at my condition because it is just too hard to diagnose.

How many people are lactose intolerant?
    • Posted

I'm not sure if I am. I don't eat a lot of dairy anyway. I was making milk kefir for a couple of months as I thought this would help with the bb. It's the highest pro biotic you can get compared to the capsules. After a week or so I had the worst post nasal drip which just didn't stop. I eventually stopped drinking the kefir and after a couple of weeks the pnd went back to normal.

This might indicated some kind of intolerance.

      Are you lactose intolerant?

That possibly could be some sort of a intolerance. I just find it suspicious that a lot of people with be are milk intolerant/lactose intolerant. And on top of that they have bb even if they don't consume any dairy. I'm at the least milk intolerant, some other dairy products I am, not really hard cheese though.

And I believe homemade raw sauerkraut has more probiotics than kefir. A 16oz of sauerkraut (raw) can equal of to 8 bottles of probiotics. Sauerkraut has trillions of probiotics.

Yeah I thought kefir was higher. I did sauerkraut for about a week! Honestly couldn't stomach any more. It's fine on a hot dog but eating spoonfuls of it was really hard. Keep meaning to make kombucha or maybe try dairy free kefir. My kefir grains are well dead now so would need to get some more. The irony is that while I was taking the kefir I felt great except for the constant mucus running down my throat. Breath was still bad tho!

I can't believe you don't like sauerkraut! Was it the raw kind? I know the one I bought was really good and couldn't get enough of it..ha I haven't tried kefir yet, but at this point I'm over the whole probiotics thing..for now.

Yeah it was raw I think. Vacuum sealed bag? It was nice at first but then it was a struggle. My husband was eating it too to support me haha. He gave up on the kefir and the sauerkraut well before me.

The first thing you should try is to press your tongue to your teeth and blow some air thru if you smell a bad smell it is being caused by bacteria both between your teeth and the back side of your gums even tho flossing helps it really can't get everything.

Mouth wash helps kill odor causing bacteria but only if it can get to it so what I use is a water pick with mouth wash put in with the water it's important to go all the way around the tooth in order to get it all also a nice helper is a tongue scrapper you have to remember your tongue is like a carpet and mouth wash doesn't always go deep enough in to the fiber like taste buds.

Well I hope this works for you cause it worked for me and I even signed up just to reply to this tread

    Keep your head up!
