Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

We need to make a Facebook page and less  get out of the shadow.! Maybe someone would see what we going through and help us out. Like some type of TV show or something..

Thats can go both ways especially if all of us join with profile pics and all that.  Chances are no one will help without wanting anything in return.  We could also be humiliated too.

I have read in other sites doing my research.  Im not sure if I read it hear too.  Anywho A person that actually had TMAU.  TMAU is just a body odor disorder.  The person used Zinc tablets along with kelp tablets and Coconut oil everyday and that stopped the odor.  Claims to this day to be cured.  Others its just worked for 3 months.  Im willing to try it.

    Hi question to everyone

Have you guys experienced other body odor other than the BB?

Hi everyone, I had been using the most famous brand of toothpaste for the longest time and I noticed every time I use it for brushing, my BB got worse as it had an after taste and made my mouth dry. Until last week, I switched to the famous brand for sensitive teeth. I felt the difference and improved my condition. My mouth was not dry after brushing. No after taste as well. And when I talked to people after brushing, they no longer touch their nose. Thank God. But then again, this is just one part of the journey. I did a lifestyle change. I ensure my meal is balanced everyday. Veggies and fruits with a little portion of meat and rice. I seldom eat pastries, processed, canned goods, and deep fried food. These changes really helped a lot. Hope this would help others, too.

Hi all, any new information on how to cure bb? I don't have gall bladder anymore so I need to be extra healthy with my food intake to avoid odorous breath 😦

      Hi Enigma,

I had breath of death for almost a year and now it's mostly gone. I tried to be consistent in my oral hygiene and after 2 months it went away. I used non-alcoholic mouthwash everyday, I brushed 2x a day, I flossed, and I used a water pik (to get below the gum line). Now I don't use the water pik or mouthwash unless I smell it coming back. And I have to say that after eating sugar foods - it usually comes back the next day. Good luck!

Hi I also had my gallbladder removed 2yrs ago but I havent followed any type of diet. I eat anything. I havent had any success finding a cure to BB. I know sometimes its something internal not only in the mouth. Hpylori or LEAKY gut syndrome. I have also noticed when I eat sugary foods it gets worse. I havent changed my diet to be honest at all.

It really helps to switch to healthy diet but at times tiring and boring...i had endoscopy and i was negative of anything but only mild acid reflux..i dunno but even as a kid i already had this horrible condition.

This is an interesting approach. It seems it helps for some. I've noticed a difference myself.

Hi Lisa, everyone has different issues that cause the poop smell. Some are lucky and found something that got ride off the smell. Some haven't found it yet.

Many of us have gave up on doctors. Some of us have been struggled many years.

For me, I do experiments to find where the poop smell coming from.

It will take time and money to figure out.

      Questions to ask yourself.

      Is it from the mouth?

      Is it from the skin?

Is it from the digest system?

Mine is my digest system. What I eat will cause the smell in minutes. I learned that if I eat beef, pork, eggs, nuts, chocolate, process meat, alcohol any poultry except chicken will cause smell. Each item cause different smell from rotting food, garbage, fart and poop breath.

Don't give up! There is a problem there will be a solution. I used strangers to do my experiment. Lol

If you have any questions dont be shy to ask. Hopefully this help.

I haven't figured out what causes my bad breath but I have found that if I use a water irrigation device like a waterpik it will go away. sometimes it takes a while but consistently I've had good results. I use the Waterpik nightly and if I find that the smell is back I add a strong mouthwash to it. I've also read about the Keyes method for taking care of gum disease which causes bad breath among other symptoms. I plan to follow that. it involves brushing with a salt and baking soda and peroxide solution, the brushing involves tilting the toothbrush to the space between the gums and the teeth at a 45 degree angle, and it helps to find a dentist who has been trained in the in the keyes method.

Hello, have you ever researched the benefits of salt water. I use it in my nasal irrigation system(non-iodized salt and purified warm water in a squeeze bottle. I do it every morning I also gargle and drink (just a little salt water) It helps a lot. But cleaning your nasal passages is a must. I have used the baking soda, peroxide an salt water mixture but it actually made me smell worst. I definitely will invest in a Waterpik.
