Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

hello first I would like to say don't be ashamed by this compromising predicament that you found yourself in. I am a very hygienic person and I also experienced this in my life I never had a cavity until I was 23 years old when my dental insurance ended; in addition to mass consumption of sugar, I also hate it to floss. one year later I had four cavities. I thought that I didn't need to seek professional help and as a result I suffered from similar experiences of people referring to my breath as poo breath. last year I had a dental exam and learned that I had a total of 5 cavities and  needed four fillings and one root canal. in research, I found that the main cause of the bad breath was decaying food stuck in between your teeth. I bought some old fashioned floss and started to clean out some of the food that would get stuck in the cavities or in between my teeth. in doing so I would pull out small particles of old food about the size or smaller than the size of a grain of rice. upon smelling these small old food particles I would smell what everyone was describing. I invested in a Waterpik and also purchased something caught Therabreath solution.  I filled the waterpik container with 1 to 2 capsules of the therabreath solution and water, then used the waterpik to cleanse out the cavity holes of all of the decaying and old food. as a result my breath started to better And fresher. however I do still need to get those cavities filled so that there is less food that will get caught in those areas.

It sounds like built up sinus mucous and associated bacteria - no matter what you do for your breath, it won't help?  We've found excellent results by regularly using the nettie pot with saline packets. You can also buy a booster liquid to add to the saline solution that thins thickened sinus mucous. Start out slowly and once you're comfortable using it - experiment to figure out whether you need to use the nettie pot daily, every other day, every three days... and so on. Ask a trusted friend to alert you as soon as the smell begins to resurface. Using the nettie pot the day before that tends to happen keeps the sinuses clear and the odor at bay.  For those with sinus-induced bad breath, a nettie pot coupled with regular dental hygeine can change your life.

    1.no dairy

2.no smoking. It makes it even worse!

    3. It's your mucus draining to your throat that causes odor.

    4. When you shower gently run water into nostrils and out of throat.

    5. Use a nostril rinse Everyday...it can be store bought or homemade.

    6. Also mix a tsp of Ginger and honey....consume.

    7. No butter! No dairy! No smoking!

    8. Use medical gloves on one hand, push the top GENTLY at the back of your throat. DONT HURT YOURSELF ONLY PUSH GENTLY. This will help drain mucus. Im not a professional, I have been doing this for about a week, it helps alot.

    9. Most important get a doctor visit to check appendix,  lungs, liver. VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU GET CHECKED. Could be something else going on.

    10. Don't be shy or embarrassed. Just keep smiling!

Hi I did read that only sterile water should be used when using this method of cleaning your nasil passages, due to any unclean water in the nasil area

simply take a tablespoon or two of oil, swish it around in your mouth for approx 20 minutes then spit it out. don't spit it down the sink as the smell is hard to get out of the pipes after a while. spit in the trash. if you look online you'll find dozens of websites that talks about oil pulling. the idea is the bacteria in your mouth will stick to the oil which you dispose of instead of swallowing it plus if your mouth is extremely dry it helps a great deal to moisturize.

My daughter has this problem and it's called tonsil stones. Her breath smells pretty badly and I can take a quick look at her tonsils and see the stones on there.

I had my tonsils removed about nine years ago. But I still have the same problem. I wonder can I still get tonsil stones. Hmmm .

Sorry, I have the same problem but can't seem to get any info.

The white objects you call tonsil stones I called them pus balls and they are narsty smelling  I do clean them out with a very small headed toothbrush. Over the years I have noticed mashed potatoes, crisps, pastries, bread, biscults especially custard creams  and things similar seen to produce these tonsil stones the next day. My hygeine is very good but still I have bad breath.  Ive started to take cider vinegar  1/2 to 1 tea spoon in a glass of water once a day  just in case the bad bacteria in the stomach is also causing the smell.  Like so many of you my life has been miserable and how I cope I dont know. Used different mouth washes.  It did improve when I gave up all sorts of bread and kept the carbs under control.  I chew Extra Ice gum as I found this was the best one the rest make your breath worse

    hello everyone

im new but have been researching this for months.

I want to get cured but buying different products gets expensive, espeically when you don't know what will work.

So i wanna try the cheapest route possible until and save money to buy probiotics or do my best to obtain a prescription.

Ive tried changing my diet before but its so hard to see everyone else eat normal while I make myself even more of an outcast. I think maybe if we follow a strict diet together we can all be cured or at least reduced our syptoms.

asside from the bb my symptoms include stomach aches, ocational boating, i take a colon clease to go at least twice a day, and my stomach makes noices, i have dry throat but not dry mouth. i think my problem is more than my throat tho because my bb gets worse ike 20 min after eating and it can be detected through the whole house just by breathing. so, if ur bb only comes out only when u talk be thankful u can sit comfortably quiet in a room. i wish i was back to this state, at least.

From my research, i belive drinking lots of water helps and following a vegan diet. I experienced some relief before by eating only fruits and veggies but that problem came back when i began cheating. now, I notice fruits can make the problem worse, and i know raw veggies can be hard to digest, so im sticking to only cooked veggies. Also im going to buy a cabbage and make saurkreat (sorry if i spelled it wrong) and eat this with every meal. oh! and daily excercise.

Im considering fasting to but not sure. i need enouragement.

who wants to follow the diet with me? i hope we can all cure ourselves together because this is a living nightmare. Ive tried this before but its so hard to follow a diet when you are by urself. i think this type of cleanseing is the way to go because the body is designed to heal itself. so if we put less strain on our bodies by eating simple foods, our body will heal itself and the culprit will leave because our bodies will become unfavorable envoirnments.

im open to suggestions as i am drawing conclusions from others experiences.

    what do you think???

I am up for it! But i justy got done with the ent doctor to see if i have tonsil stones but i dont. The dr. prescribed an antibiotics and methylprednisolone to take for a week to see if it will cure my bad breath. If not the dr. told me to come back. Ill let you know what happen. So for now I will take this two meds and probiotic, eat veggie and fruits for a week to see how this go.

ur lucky that ur doctor cares enough to try and fix the problem. doctors dont help me. kaiser health care is useless....

Yes he was helpful. Reading all the postings on here. I don't think the meds gonna help.

I was thinking of trying that enzyme they are talking bout. What do u think?

    • Posted

idk about the enzymes. i found eating foods high in enzymes was more helpful. foods like papaya and pinapple...

dont get discouraged. if ur doctor is trying to help u, and the meds dont work, can ask him if he'd prescibe u flucanazole and metronidazle to see if they help. i read this helped many people. one is an antibiotic and the other is an antifungal so they target both bacteria and yeast...
