Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

Despite my own thoughts on bb, I'm starting to believe it is actually an oral symptom. This is why most people can't cure their bb. It's not your oral hygiene per se, but the bacteria in your mouth. You can clean your mouth all day, but this won't help your bacteria. Some people are blessed with great oral bacteria that can wake up in the morning with clean breath and their others, like myself who can have a good oral hygiene but still have bb.

Hi Daniel. I agree with you. I don't have tonsils and have perfect oral hygiene. I've suffered my whole life with bb and I'm now 41. I've tried everything possible. Every time I think I've found a cure and nothing has worked so far. Somebody posted a link to an article about oral bacteria and oral pro biotics. Again I am hopeful that oral pro biotics might be the answer so I will order them and report back.

Have you tried oral pro biotics? They put the good bacteria back in your mouth rather than your gut which I think is what I need. I think I must have the healthiest gut on this planet with all the pro biotics, parasite cleanses, diets I have been doing.

Has anybody tried the oral probiotics?

I tried this K12 stuff from New Zealand. Didn't work for me, but then again I took it for a month only, stuff gets expensive. But then again maybe it did work, during that time I had couple of girls talking to me and I never got complaints. To me I always have it and always cautious so hard to know if I do or I'm just being paranoid at times.

That's the same stuff I have ordered. Well it's not from New Zealand but it's the same k12 bacteria in it. I'm the same as you, my husband tells me it's in my head but when I take my toddler to play groups other mums always sniff their baby's bums when I am near them! I know it's not in my head but I dare say it's worse sometes than others. I know when drinking alcohol it gets worse and chocolate makes it bad but it's still there even if I have been eating salads and fruit. I'm just thankful my kids haven't been cursed with it.

Do your family members suffer from Bb?

Maybe some people can pick up different smells than others? Lol.

My dad use to have bad breath, but it was different. I believe he had some bad teeth. Now he doesn't have bb. I have three other siblings and they are fine. I honestly believe I disrupted the oral bacteria balance in my mouth from years of chronic stress due to some life changes. Now I just try to relax and get my immune system back in order. I notice I suffered from dey mouth constantly because of my stress/anxiety and that would cause oral thrush. I did start using some oral rinse for dry mouth and that's helping with it and giving me the confidence to relax a little.

There are some other products out there to help with the bacteria in your mouth and I plan to get some once I can. Sometimes I feel like a fool

Spending so much money on stuff that never helps. Every time I buy something I'm so sure it's going to be the cure..haha

Yeah I dread to think about the money I have spent over the last 20 years. Thousands of pounds for sure between clinics and products. Sometimes I like getting a night to myself when I can drink wine eat cheese and have nobody around me to worry about the smell!!

Who knows maybe the k12 will work. £35 for 60 so it would be an expensive cure but I would pay that every month if it worked.

Hello Daniel & everyone, found a site where you can chat w docs live. It won't let me post. Well a woman asked the question on her symptoms. She has everything we mentioned & docs responded that it's a viral iinfection. They suggested she take antifungal but I know plenty of us have & still no results.

So far, no wheat, sugar helps and not stressing out.

so what was the doctors suggestion for treatment?

Yeah, I don't eat sugar, gluten, meat, dairy or any type of food that has more than a negligible amount of ingredients and those ingredients have to be non-chemicals. At times I feel like I'm treating something that's not there. This is the first I've heard of a viral infection. Infection of what?

I've also been taking two types of antics gals through raw garlic and this special honey(can't post brand). The honey was highly suggested and rated. I've barely started those antics gals though. I've taking pills in the past.

I haven't had sugars or wheat. The docs just mentioned that it can be candida over growth, herpes, or just a viral infection. They recommend I see a doc to get a sample, biopsy to fully know .I haven't been able confirm an appointment.

My GI wants to sonogram my gall bladder spleen from pains I'm getting behind my right bottom rib.

Today I rinsed & brushed w hydrogen peroxide I can't tell if it is working.

Is anyone else doing this? Have they noticed a difference?

So I had this problem as well not too long ago. Even worse, during High School.. (When I should be making out with all the honey's!) It sucked, super Self-Concious everywhere I went. Anyway I was able to overcome it.

I actually went to a Chiropractor, and he's the one who laid it all out, and it made a lot of sense. I tried what he told me, and little by little the stanky breath went away.

Contrary to what many people seem to be saying, it's not a bacterial problem. You can brush/floss/mouthwash as much as you want. The problem (assuming your case in the same as mine was), is your digestive system. It isn't digesting your food properly. Are you having at least 2 bowel movements a day? yadayadayada. So there are some things you can do to strengthen and help your digestive system, resulting in the awful smell thats coming out of your mouth, changing to going out where it's supposed to.

    1. Drink water. Lots. Seriously. Drinking a lot of water before you eat your meal will lubricate your insides, helping food pass easier. Also I found drinking water during the meal helps as well. (food becomes easier to break down.)

    2. Chew Your food PLENTY. It only means less work for your digestion.

    3. Begin taking a multi-vitamin, either B6 or B12, (I think it is?) Provides further support for your digestion.

4.Diet. Diet is huge. Sugary Carbs are toxic to your body. Potato Chips, Candy, Soda, etc. This part SUCKS, but it's worth it. Find out your blood type, then go online and you should be able to pull up a general diet for your blood type. Mine forbade me from white bread, (Even wheat bread..) Milk, etc. In this I switched to foods like ezekiel bread and almond milk. Instead of Sugary Cereal, I ate puffed rice for breakfast. I followed it strictly for 3 weeks to atleast see what would happen, and there was for sure a difference. Stop Junk food.

    5. Stress. I didn't have a stress problem, but I was told stress can be a major key player. So chill out.

Dont mean to get graphic, but I was only having a bowel movement about once every other day. After doing all of this crap for a long time, I'm now at 2 to 3, and my disgusting breath is gone. Maybe your case is different, but I'd HIGHLY reccomend giving this a shot. I've been where your at and it blows. Too afraid to talk, even open your mouth, peoples side comments.. Ya. Anyway im back to high confidence again. It improves little by little. Don't be discouraged when it's not completely gone immediately. Have someone who your comfortable enough to check for you every 2 days or so. (I asked my Mom, she did it like a champ.. poor lady haha).

I've been already doing all this and more for almost a year. The only exceptions are the stress and checking my blood type. I think mine is oral bacteria. Plus, my mouth is constantly dry and I can't remember the last time my tongue was all pink.

Thing is I have daily bowel movements, sometimes twice a day. I thought maybe it was my digestive system, but I'm starting to think otherwise now because nothing seems to work.

Hi Daniel, is your tongue dry & the back of it red bumps, light yellow?

Is there any scaring at the end of your mouth? It's your breath only poo or dry mouth breath? Are your tonsils swollen but no tonsil stones?

Is your elimination smell stronger than usual or white spots?

I'm asking bc I'm going to follow up w my ENT this week. Like you, I'm on strick diet but recently I've rinsed w hydrogen peroxide & Listerine. It works & odor comes back after I eat & don't brush/rinse.

I've asked myv docs to test me for oral candida. I'm waiting for tat throat swab results

My tongue and roof of mouth gets dry a lot. There are some red bumps, not yellow way in the back of my tongue, but I believe that's normal.

No scarring. And it's fart breathe, that's it. I mean it's what I only have gotten comments on. My tonsils seem fine, never had any problems with them.

Oral thrush is oral Candida. I know I get thrush a lot and white tongue without thrush, you can usually tell the difference. Thing is, if your mouth is constantly dry it leaves your mouth defenseless.

Daniel, I agree with you. All the things you have done during this time has helped. Some ppl are looking for over night answers. From my experience with all docs that don't have answers on this I've learned that the body takes awhile to rebuild properly.

I took probiotics for two nights before bed. so far my fart breath happens when I don't eat on time. My mouth is moist. As soon as I wake up I drink water & g lutamine powered teaspoon. I wait. Then 1/2 hour eat & vitamins

Daniel. *L-glutamine. I'm still following up with docs on other exams to rule things out. It's important.

I take L-Glutamine, mega dose of Vitamin C, flax seed(fiber), raw sauerkraut and yogurt(probiotics), New Zealand Honey(man^*+ honey), eat healthy, no sugar, no GMO, no gluten, no meat, no foods with more than a few ingredients. All I drink is water and herbal teas.
