Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

Loobs- I too think that we might be having too much of the Bad mouth bacteria than a normal person but then that's reason im taking oral probiotics to balance the bacteria but it does not seem to help.

KJJ- iv also read a lot about it. I'm not from the UK, I live in South Africa.

Daniel28749- There is no ways I'm prepared to live another year with this illness/ disability. I'm not too sure if stress causes bad breath if that's the case many people I know should be having it. I used to have silver fillings which I had removed and I now have perfect white teeth and great gums and my organs are working just fine. I'm not too sure about the appendix removal- I have not removed mine.

Ian60563- I have been using 3% Hydrogen Peroxide as mouth wash and for nasal irrigation. I don't have a white coated tongue, i used to have it but I irradiated it with 14days 20mg Fluconazole when I was treating Candida I never had. I also use a tongue scraper which helps in removing the white coating.

I wouldn't rule out chronic emotional stress. If your immune system has been compromised, you are open to many ailments. And yes you can live with this, it's just a matter of changing your way of thinking. I've never disclosed this, but not only do I have bad breath, child support takes half my pay checks. So if I can be fairly happy with these difficulties, so can you. Remember, someone out there always has things worse. I just know two things can happen.

      1) a cure comes about

      2) no cure, we eventually die and none of this really matters.

I'm not saying it's difficult, but it's tolerable, just depends on your thinking. Sometimes you have to laugh at the difficulties life give you. Like me, I'm poor as hell and my breath stinks..lol

I might also add if you had your fillings removed without certain safety measures taken to reduce overexposure from Mercury during the procedure you could make things worse. I could of had mine replaced for under $100 by an ordinary dentist, but I'm holding out till my insurance kicks in and I can afford a biodentist who's been trained to take the necessary protocols to reduce overexposure during the procedure.

Ugh I wrote a.long post that is awaiting moderation SMH. Anyways a quick couple things- go get GOOD PROBIOTICS, the best

ones the health food store has. They are refrigerated.

      2) Even though GI Dr says youre fine, you could have silent GERD which wasnt active on the day of the scope. I did, my dentist noticed enamel loss, so I started prilosec and BB got much better!

      3) limit meat and dairy, go for fresh fruits and veggies! (No garlic or onions!)

      4) flush tonsils with waterpik even if you think your tonsils are fine

      5) dont use breath mints. Don't eat artificial sweeteners

Maybe try seeing a dentist. I know that The bacteria caught in the space between the tooth and gum can cause a fowl odor and taste. Plaque can also form in this space and worsen the issue. I know when I start to get a persistent "bad" taste in my mouth, it's time for a cleaning. This didn't start until my late 30's. I hope this helps.

tliz- I am currently on good refrigerated probiotics with multiple stains, i was on double dose Lansoprasole for 4 months and a barium swallow showed no reflux so nothing shows that I have Gord/LPR/ silent reflux, I'm pretty confident I have no tonsil stones because I do waterpick and there's nothing coming out. Fortunately I was blessed with an obsession for diet and exercise, i eat veggies and lean meat and I don't like sweet stuff, dairy at all even mints.

Does anyone here drink diet pop or eat artificial sweeteners?
    • Posted

      I drink dcoke caffeine free.

I recommend Stevia. Look it up, it's the perfect sweetner. No artificial and better than raw honey because it holds none/little glycemic index.

Idk why this is, but natural sweeteners including diet soda give me terrible BB.

    hi tliz

Thank you for your advice, may God bless you. However I tried prilosec for 1 month and it did not help much, I also used Omerprazole (ppi) for 14 days when I was on quadruple therapy during the eradication of my Hpylori. As I also mentioned quiet recently that I was prescribed double dose Lansoprasole(ppi) which I used for 4 months, to be quiet honest I dedicated the entire 2015 to the whole concept of LPR/GERD/GORD. I can now confidently conclude that my bad breath is not caused by it.

About diet, that one is very tricky. But I like challenges hence I challenged myself by going completely vegan for a good 2 months, was not nice at all! but surprisingly I managed to get through it ( I love my hotdogs man). With a combination of Multiple stain probiotics with prebiotics containing billions CFU content and a low carb vegan diet I did see a change as I noticed a 'feeling of clean' in the mouth but the bad breath was still there even when the mouth felt clean. I say it's tricky because you get people who eat the junckest of junk but still have the freshest breath ever.

but thanks for the advise, i appreciate it.

That's because some people are fortunate to have loads of good bacteria in their mouth. My ex, she wakes up with fresh breath! It all comes down to bacteria in the mouth I believe, that's why you never get results with all these doctors. There's a imbalance of good and bad bacteria in our mouth and that bad bacteria is letting out smelling odors. They get to a point where a small layer of film covers your tongue and they live underneath(anaerobic/ not need oxygen/) constantly feeding off whatever you eat and no amount of scraping is going to get rid of them. So that's the problem right there, how to get to them and restore oral balance.
