Breathing issues

I suffer from anxiety and I always feel out of breath or that it's very hard to take a good deep breath. It's very odd because when I'm sitting down or just standing I feel like I'm out of breath. When I exercise and do cardio it's completely fine, does this happen to anyone else?

I have exactly the same problem. Can't breath properly. I yawn constantly and can't take deep breath. It's as if there's something stopping my lungs . It is a horrible feeling

It is. It's a nightmare. I cant sleep. I wake up all night short of breath. The nights are the worst. I am constantly standing up, moving around, anything to relieve this tightness. Try to ignore it but it ain't working.

I have had this since I was a teenager. And now that I have anxiety I always wonder if maybe I somehow always had it.
I go through weeks were I have to just take deep breathes in because I cant breathe right, or I have to constantly Yawn ( but yawn and yawn and yawn until I get just enough air) It sounds crazy but Yes I have this symptom happen to be. It goes away when I dont think about it. The more you think about it the more you find yourself doing it.
Feel better soon!!

It is such a horrible feeling. I've had anxiety problems for 30 years. This breathing thing only appeared about a year ago. I could cope before that but since this appeared things have been really bad

You can try breathing Techniques, I think there is a section on this at the sid of this page.
Sometimes if people are all crumpled up when they sit down their posture affects there breathing, so if you site correctly with your back straight and your neck is straight as well your breathing should be better.
If you rise quickly from rest, sitting down your body does not have time to reach the brain, head etc and this can cause dizziness. So when you stand slower from sitting, you will find the blood will have time to feed the top of your body. The same can happen if you turn your head/neck you will feel dizzy. What happens there rapid movement of the fluid around the brain sloshes around and you will get dizzy. An ear infection can also effect your balance as it effects fluid in the inner ear.
All quite normal

Ive been suffering the exact same symptoms for about 2 months now. The best i can describe it as is it feels like my chest is frozen. I cant seem to take deep breaths, even yawning is hard. Sometimes my chest feels so tight it hurts. Its all anxiety. It does get worse when i stress about it. Im learning to live with it, like people say here, the more you focus on it, the worse it gets. Try slow deep breaths, stretching my arms over my head seems to work sometimes too. Hope this helps.
