Broken ankle

Broke ankle in a boot, sleeping with it on is almost impossible. My daughter broke her ankle her doctor gave her a splint like soft cast for sleeping. Anyone familiar with the sleep splints?  I use a walker and will try a shower today.

Take your boot off, unless you leave your house then put it back on. At home you should elevate, ice, rest. Get a knee roller to get around the house. I woke up with a boot on  and the only time I slept with it on was the first night on my couch with my foot propped up above my heart (and that’s because I was still out of it).  I also spent my time reading up on everything ankle related (let’s face it, you have plenty of time)  and I went on Amazon and purchased every item I could afford, ie ankle braces, a wedge to prop up my legs, ice therapy machine (best purchase ever), a short light weight boot, an air boot, shower chair, and compression sleeves for later on. You should be wrapped with something  on, as I am sure they didn’t put your bare foot in a boot. I also purchased items at my local Walgreens (leg shower cover extra bandages and I even watched on YouTube how to bandage my foot).  All of this helped in my recovery , as I felt a little more empowered and we need all the help we can get to help combat depression, frustration and weight gain.  Also, if you can drive (depend on which foot it is)get your paperwork organized  so you can get a temporary handicap tag. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery <3
