I broke both my tibia & fibula (ORIF) in September so I am in that same boat. I am still in PT. Seems like my recovery is long but I feel I am making progress. I've seen people say they were walking fine at 3 months, others struggling at over 1 year. Definitely get PT and push your range of motion exercises. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Hang in there- some days are harder and more emotional than others.

Are you in PT??? That does help I was walking at about 12 weeks post op, limping more like it! LOL Ill be 8 months post op in a few days and back to my daily routine
It can take almost a full year to feel totally normal again Thats what my ortho told me anyway
Still have stiffness here and there

trimalleolar surgery 2 1/5 yrs ago ..9 weeks before i was able to partial weight bear, 13 weeks full weight bear without boot and back to work on light duty. when you start walking after 3mths your ankle will still feel stiff but you must work threw it and exercise and add strength to it. long process but take it one step at a time. i tell everyone that it all depends on you and how your ankle responds on how fast you progress.

All of us lol. I'm almost two years out. It is a long recovery, hard to explain feeling I have now, kind of like a tight rubber band is squeezing my ankle. I didn’t find PT so great like many others, best medicine was just walking around when told to and it started loosening up naturally. I’ll never wear four inch heels again! For me it doesn't hurt now, just feels off.

Tight rubber band feeling is a perfect description! I am in month 6 after ORIF and that just feels weird.

Nearly 9 months post Orif Surgery for a completely shattered left ankle - Trimalleolar fracture and disclocation. 12 weeks off work but walking at that point and now walking gait is good, bar early mornings when it's a bit stiff and late evening when it's just blooming tired!!!
It has been a long road but happily for me a good outcome. Only two Physio sessions were all I needed and upkeeping the schedule of exercise and stretches along with using my new bike has really helped.
A positive mindset and remembering that the injury in the main and for most people is temporary and now 9 months on seems like a distant memory. Onwards and upwards.
