Broken ankle anxiety

hey, it's been 3 months since I had my accident, I fractured a bone and had a talar shift which I needed surgery to fix my ankle, I started weightbearing and physio about 3 weeks ago, and I've progressed quite quickly im now in two shoes and my physio is happy for me to do that she is happy with how my ankle is healing, but I have this horrible anxiety about twisting it and breaking it again when ever I'm out walking and it's horrible it's like my ankle feels weird being exposed after wearing a boot for so long.

So sorry to hear of your accident....maybe a support bandage might help you. at least it will give you more freedom than the "Boot thing"....soak your feet in warm water with epsom salts in, relax with your feet up and put all this behind you. Your ankle will heal and so will you. Love and hugs...Gloria

It seems like you are doing very well with your physical recovery. My ankle twisted going down one little step and I ended up in a cast and then a boot. After my recovery I was fearful that going down steps I would fall again and break something. I talked to my doctor and was given anti anxiety pills for a short period of time. I also gently wrapped my ankle in an ace bandage. Talk to your doctor. They are there to help.
