Hi. 3 wks ago. Did not take boot off for first 2 weeks soo afraid of doing more damage. Thought I was doing ok after seeing ortho so started taking boot o off while in chair. Then started having bad pain up front of leg to knee and hip. Ortho said boot caused this. Just worry. Need to pray more, worry less!

See Dr asap to rule out anything serious. Then see Physio. Boots can be very uncomfortable. I have tried 2 different types, 2 different sizes. If you are weight baring, you need walker or crutches. You'll never get full movement as they are designed to keep leg rigid.

Good luck . you may need extra padding and may need to take it easy.

the pain up to your hip is normal when in a boot. i have also had that pain. It has gone away. It takes time to get used to it, and your leg getting used to the boot.

    good luck

Will last weeks. Were all past it, over it, sick of it. But we all have to soldier on. It does get better. Boot didn't affect me as bad as you. Great for protection. Thought I'd never get away from that or cast. Did you you crack, break or snap a bone. Just wondering why you didn't have a fibreglass cast. And why you're expected to be up on it so early. Have you seen xrays? Is it healing? Another person on this site was being treated for a sprain. Several weeks down the tract all not well. We all encouraged a second opinion. Turns out it was broken. Maybe you need a second opinion. And a Physio.

Its scary stuff. Fear of hurting it again is a biggie. I'm 9 months down track, 4 months post surgery, and not full weight baring yet. Close. Leg stl week. I'm in my mid 50s. Font give up. Take pain meds as directed. Glad you got some padding. Go back ASAP if it gets worse.

Reilief from cortisone shot lasted 36 hours. I slept in bed one night and am up at 3 AM th second night. My leg pain is like a throbing pain. I guess I will doze on and off in recliner for the duration. And mine is a minor break. Don't know how you handle these bad breaks.

Pain levels vary. As does pain sensitivity. I'd go back to Dr to rule out anything else. It doesn't sound right. My cortisone in other leg for Bakers Cyst, still working.

I think its best you go asap. My life was hell at the beginning. Then 4 months later, hell after op. Only started bearable a week or so ago. I phoned Hospital any time I was concerned. And 99.9% or time something was wrong. Are you trying to do too much?

      Hang in there.©{°$°}®
