I broke my ankle falling down a flight of stairs and am currently in a walking boot and crutches from the er until i can get into the orthopaedic surgeon. In yoir experience does this break look like something that could heal on its own or something that needs surgery? http://imgur.com/a/Sd3J7

I'm not a doctor, but your X-ray is almost identical to mine, and I have a plate and 7 screws...I imagine there are a lot of variables though.

It looks like it's a similar break to mine. I have had not had surgery. Have had a cast on for just over 5 weeks, have an appointment at fracture clinic so hoping to have it removed. It is standard practice to let it settle for 7 - 10 days and then X-ray again. Hope this helps.
