Broken collarbone 3 years old

My grandson 3 yrs old, feel off the couch almost the weeks ago. One image is from two weeks ago the other from today. The doctor feels like its healing but it is clearly separated farther than first image. I do not have any experience with broken collar bones and wandered if we should seek another opinion or if its standard procedure to let it go with the bones that far apart. He doesn’t appear to be in extreme discomfort but will certainly not keep any sling on.

    The collar bone does heal over time, but it doesnt attach itself back to normal over time. It may need to be glued together in some form or fashion and casted on the outside.
