My daughter broke her upper radius and has been in a cast for 5 weeks now. She experiences pain in her elbow still. Is it normal to still experience pain 5 weeks after being in a cast? I'm afraid it's not healing efficiently or there's additional problems like nerve damage or something. Anyone have ideas of why she is still experiencing pain?

How significant is the pain? If it has been decreasing I don't think it's anything to worry about. If it's still pretty severe then there may well be problems. My daughter had a similar injury at 8 years old. She's 30 now so my memory might be sketchy but I think she had pain for quite a while and some when the cast came off. She has high tolerance for pain and broke way too many bones as a child but she said this was the absolute most painful one.
