Bronc

I have bronc. I started having a bad case of acid reflux with chest pain and tightness and stomach issues last couple of days. . I take Prilosec twice a day. I had some coughing but mild. I started using the saline nebulizer yesterday and hard coughed today with some phlegm two times. . Now I have bad chest pain and tightness. Its worst. It feels like chest congestion. I am confused if the pain is from bronc or acid reflux. I think I was better off before the nebulizer and stirring things up.  What should i do. Get everything to calm down?  Mucinex? Confused if it acid reflux or bronc. Do you get pain from lungs?

Tony, if you have reflux that bad while on 2 prilosec daily, you have a serious problem. You shouldn't be experiencing this much trouble on that dose. When's the last time your gastroenterologist endoscoped you?

Yes, nebulizer meds will stir up the junk. This is a good thing, up & out. If it's still hard to get up, yes on some guafenisin. Just do yourself a favor & don't buy mucinex brand. If you won't go to Costco for mucus relief (a brand name since the '80s!), get the Target, etc., guafenisin tab

The 2 things definitely irritate each other. Learn best huffing & coughing techniques, and make the diet & lifestyle changes to help with reflux. But 1st, go to the gut doc to find out why you have so much break through reflux. Go soon. See your gp if you can't see gastro soon. This is serious.
