Bronchitis symptoms after 3 months

I was in the E.R early December. The day before I was playing with my dog, running, jumping, chasing etc and I felt more out of breath than usual afterward, like I couldn't catch my breath all the way. I was coughing. It was uncomfortable. By nighttime, it had gotten significantly worse. I didn't sleep that night because I had to work to breathe. In the morning, it started being painful to breathe, I was wheezing and throwing up after heaving too hard.
I've had pneumonia 2 twice before. The symptoms were similar so I thought it was that, but I ended up going the E.R. The doctor said I had an upper respiratory infection/Bronchitis. He gave me prednisone and Albuterol and sent me on my way.
The Albuterol was a godsend.
I went to my pediatrician for follow up a couple days later and It seemed like I was improving.
Well, a couple of weeks after the last doctor visit I started having those symptoms again. The coughing, wheezing and short of breath. Went back to the doctor. Gave me a Z Pak and more albuterol. Seemed to improve for a couple more weeks.
Symptoms came back, went back to the doctor. They gave me another Z Pak and Albuterol. Symptoms went away
So now it's been a few more weeks and the symptoms have come back AGAIN.
I can't even leave the house for more than a couple hours because I will get dizzy, cough and get so out of breath that I'm gasping for air.
I have a doctors appointment Monday, but I'm afraid they will just give me another Z Pak., which I don't think is working. Or is this normal? My doctors say it should have been gone by now. Does anyone know any other treatments I can recommend? Or has anyone had or seen anything similar?
I haven't seen much about it on the internet.
Thank you!!

I have had the same kind of episode as you have; in fact I got ill on 26/12/17 and am still not 100% well. The difference in my treatment was that I was kept on antibiotics (despite all the negative publicity about taking antibiotics); but I had two different ones; clarithromycin and doxycycline; and because I also have asthma I was put onto prednisolone as well. But it still took a long time to settle.
Hope you start feeling better soon. You will really enjoy being out with the dog when you are well!
