Brostrum ankle ligament repair

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi i am in 3rd week post op for excision of bone fragment and brostrum ligament repair.

toes above nose for two weeks, and bed ridden, had to go back for recast in first week as rubbing heel bad, six weeks no weight bearing.  Couldn't go into cast at two weeks due to swelling so straight into air cast, which is a nightmare, so uncomfortable at night, not sleeping. Does anyone know what is most important the position of ankle or lack of movement as wonder if there is an alternative to boot at night, as would really love some sleep

Hi good to hear you are progressing well, I have been told to sleep in the boot until six weeks because I couldn't have the cast, really looking forward to not wearing it .

what is your PT like? Bit of a downer today, have managed to strain a muscle in my shoulder making crutches even harder, feel like a real wimp
