Brown Period

Posted , 4 users are following.

50 years old. Periods all over the place. Some cycles 16 days in between all the way to 48 days in between. I have all the normal cliche peri symptoms...night sweats, headaches, sleep disturbances. This current cycle is a bit unique. 16 days since the first day of my last period. It seems to be light (never have been a heavy bleedier) but its very brown. I normally have the brown before and after but not normally during. I had endometrial biopsy a year ago with TVUS and all was normal. Any ideas or thoughts on what this could be?

    Hi Kim,

My periods are more brown and spotty these days than red. Also getting farther apart.... average 60 days apart now.

I have been told it's because I have estrogen too low to cause ovulation, which causes low progesterone too, and the lining doesn't build up much.

I had every check possible 18 mos ago, and nothing sinister found.

Hope all is well with you~

      Hey Sara....

My periods are all over the place. The last three were 43, 20 and 16. My longest being 48 days in between. So frustrating! This last one threw me because of the short cycle and its color being mostly brown. Its so spotty I dont even need to wear anything. THIS SUCKS.....hang in there. Who knows what tomorrow brings???!!! 😦

I literally just posted about this today. My "period" this month was brown and very, very light(like spotting or discharge) with small clots (not the whole time). My period is usually very heavy, so needless to say this has thrown me for a loop. My periods at this point range from 19-64 days. I never know what to expect. lol!
