brown sperm

Hi i do have a thread going about my prostate, and now back again.

My doctor sent to see specialist at hospital and checking my prostate and telling me my prostate sulcus was not there and uneven.

Specialist told me after examination that it was normal that was 9 days ago, but he must of give it a good prod because i was uncomfortable there for hours after. Any way since then i have had sex twice first time few days ago all was fine and tonight but my sperm was darkish brown which i would think is blood and also i have noticed for a few weeks it seems to be smaller amount than it use to be anyone know what this can be please. i am confused because of what my doctor said and then the specialist telling everything was fine.

If he polk around at your prostate you will have some blood  The amount is different all the time depends on how offen and how excited you are.  It will varee One day it may be a small amount and the next day it may be more  If they told you that you were fine Just enjoy yourself   Take care  Ken

Yes i thought it could be from him having poke around but never knew that could cause blood just from pressing on and feeling it.

You didn't say why your doctor referred you, but I'm assuming other aspects aren't a problem - eg urination? If you have the brown semen as the only symptom, I would expect everything to return to normal within a couple of weeks. I had this after my two prostate biopsies, but only briefly. For clarity, by the way, I think it's helpful to use the word sperm for the microscopic invisible seeds in the semen and to use semen to refer to the ejaculatory fluid that contains the spermatazoa. E,g, I have semen, but I don't ejaculate sperm, because I had a vasectomy.

With him poking around there will be some blood and it will come out with the sperm.  Why did he send you to the other doctor you have been doing ok and your PSA is under 4.  Yes it can be very uncomfortable.  I was havinf a scope done to check my stricture that was gine but one of my implants from my urolift was off and he tryed to put it back  that hurt like hell.  I told him to stop the next 6 hours All I did is hurt and have blood come out felt like I had to go to the bathroom even hour  The next day it was fine  Take care and just be carfull  Ken

i too have noticed ( in the past year). That a brown tint had become the new color instead of nice white color like it should be,    I was thinking maybe vitamins or minerals need to b supplemented but nothing  was working.   Then two mos ago I took myself off a Med I was taking,   Tamsulosin,   beings I was self cathing and the Med was not helping a lot ,    I thought if I have to CIC every time I pee then why take the Med.     Then I started noticing after the first week my semen started getting whiter,    Now after two mos,  it seems to be back to normal.    So if you have been on a Med for a period of time that could be doing it.   Hope that helps.

That's been useful to me too as my semen has become tinted brown, also thinner. I have asked urologists why this is but they are really not interested, probably because they don't really know. I have been taking Tamsulosin for a number of years & I suspected that this was one of the side effects. Unfortunately I can't stop taking it because otherwise I have a real problem urinating. It also lowers your blood pressure so it sometimes makes me dizzy on standing. Thanks Anthony.

If you need to take it you have to.  Another reason that the urologist is not interested is at our age they feel we don't need it because we are not having kids.  The first thing they want to do is start cutting away at the prostate and stop the ejaculation.  I'm 61 and I am not having any more kids but I still what it it goes with my orgasm.  Don't let any doctor tell you all will be the same because it's not  Have a great day  Ken
