Bruising on legs ...

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have noticed I bruise more easily than before I started taking Sert 50mg (just over 3 months ago) and am a bit worried ....

It has really helped me, and I will be gutted if I have to stop taking it.

Anyone experirnced a similar problem?

Thank you

Hey New York, actually if memory serves me right, I think that’s listed as more of a serious side effect. Maybe you should talk to your Doc and see what you should do. Good luck

I spoke to my GP this morning. She said that it is a known side effect of SSRI's and that I need not be overly concerned.

We are going to review again in a few weeks, and if necessary, she will do some bloods to check my clotting screen.

      Thanks for your reply x

I have the same thing.... And had that as well five years ago when I was on sertraline. Mostly on the legs.

Yes, mine is mostly on my legs; strange.

Did it resolve, or continue throughout your use of Sert?

May I also what dose of it you were taking please?

      Thanks

I can't remember what dose I was on five years ago, this time I didn't have any on 50mg, but I have now I am on 75 and I have to increase to 100mg in one and a half weeks.

Five years ago it stopped as soon as I was off the sertraline.

Ok, so def Sert related ...

It’s strange that the leg area is the area that is most affected?

I stubbed my big toe quite severely recently, but no bruise to that.

Hope your increase goes smoothly x
