Bruising - side effect??

Hi everyone

This is a strange one really... I've noticed particularly large dark bruises coming up on my legs about fist size in the past few days with no reason as to why they've happened. I've never been one to bruise easily, im quite clumsy but can't think why these would have appeared. I'm on fluoxetine (5weeks in) don't know if it could be linked? I remember reading something in the leaflet about bruising i think but can't find much online when i searched. anyone experience something similar? or is it just my health anxiety getting better of me

    I might be totally wrong but I think SSRI meds may alter the blood clotting action slightly which may be why you're seeing bruises? I know there was a problem when I used to give blood .......

    Worth just checking it with your Doctor, but am sure there's nothing to worry about.

      Hi Kate thanks so much for the reply! How did it affect you for giving blood? I was going to call my doctor today but didn't want to seem like a hypochondriac! Bit worried now as they have got bigger and more have appeared today, but it's still just on my legs. Getting stressed out! 😦
