Interesting you should mention this. I had a bulging something last week that concerned me. No headache pain - I'm taking a ton of supplements - but I felt very tired and googled it. Almost like a migraine with no headache. I'm wondering what causes the vein or artery to bulge like that. Curious to hear what others think.

Hi Crys,
I too have bulging veins on the side of my forehead that came from nowhere. I went to the doctor because I was concerned about giant cell arteritis. He took a look and just shrugged his shoulders. I've since looked it up and have read that it can be stress or anxiety causing it. I also look at people's faces on TV and have seen it many times on actors and sports people. I think with GCA they tend to be purplish.

Hi Crys
I do get neck pain but I have cervical spondylosis. I also have creaking lower jaw when I move my jaw side to side. This could be TMJ or arthritis. I get headaches and tinnitus also. That is why I was concerned about GCA with all of my symptoms. Doctor didn't seem concerned. I have an ENT appointment next week.

May I ask how old you are? My Dr's don't think I have it either bc of my age.

Hi Cruz
I am in my fifties and GC A is more common in the over 50's, however it is not unheard of for people in their 20's to have it. Sometimes antibiotics can cause it. If you suspect you have it see another doctor would be my advice to you.
