Bump behind ear

Hi all, i went to an ENT on Monday concerning my tonsils which are both chronically enlarged. He noticed one tonsil was slightly bigger than the other and prescribed me antibiotics (amoxicillin). Ive noticed a slight decrease in the appearance of my tonsil but noticed the other day a small bump behind my ear (on the side with the more normal tonsil). Obviously I freaked out and went to urgent care immediately and was told it was probably a swollen lymph node and not to be worried about it. But I can’t help but freak out. I’m only 23 years old. It doesn’t look like a swollen lymph node, it’s a very tiny bump and it hurts a little. Any advice would be great. Thank you

Yes, these are known as mastoid lymph nodes.  I see several patients a year who have noticed them and obsess over it.  Don't torture yourself!  They are normal structures, but not all of them are palpable.  Usually seen more in thin or normal weight patients.  Refer to "mastoid lymph nodes" in Wikipedia.
