Bump in my tummy

So recently I’ve been feeling a small lump in my lower left abdomen. Around the belly button. And it causes me so much pain that I can’t breath or walk and I have to be laying down when it strikes. The thing is, is I can always feel it and it’s always there. But the pain isn’t quite so much, it’s more uncomfortable. But when it does become painful. It just strikes and it’s such an unbearable pain. That there has been times where I collapse to the ground because it hurts so much. And when I touch it to put pressure on it for relief. I can feel the bump. But when I talk to the doctors and they feel around my stomach they don’t feel anything. And I’ve had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done. And I’ve had x rays. And they said they still can’t see anything. So I don’t know what to think, or what it could be. But it hurts miserably. The doctors said its probably constipation. But I’m not constipated. My bowel movements are fairly normal and so is the consistency. And of course I still have my terrible IBS attacks and that’s when the bump in my stomach hurts the most. So what do guys think this is and what should I do?

Maybe it's a gas bubble caused by your IBS? If it is gas that could explain why doctors don't feel anything Have you had an ultrasound? Perhaps ask for that.

IBS -C has been my almost life-long problem and so is bloating and trapped gas which gives me discomfort and, at times, pain on the left side. If you like you can try over-the-counter Gas-X and /or Beano and see if it helps you. Good luck to you makenna.

Hi makenahave you been investigated for a hernia? That definitely would cause the pain you describe! I hope someone listens to you in the end. Good luck.

i would suggest going to the ER if your pain is really that bad, they will take it serious if youre there for stomach pains. im not a doctor but you could just have swelling in your intestines and thats why the pain comes when you have an ibs attack. if the pain is a result of ibs then theres really not much you can do. if your intestines are very swollen then you probably have more going on than ibs, maybe ibd. but i would suggest going to the er, if you really collapse to the ground because of the pain then you need to go to the hospital.

I have a bump on the right side that is sometimes painful, though not as bad as you describe. I've also tried to get the doctors to feel it, but they always give up before they do. My guess at this point is that mine is trapped gas, since gas handling and transport is often a problem for those with IBS. I've tried simethicone but it does nothing. I've read in scientific articles recently that a mix of simethicone, activated charcoal, and magnesium oxide has been successful in improving gas handling and transport in IBS patients. I've ordered some activated charcoal from Amazon and am planning to give it a try.
