Hello,

I've had these bumps on my shaft for a few months and I'm worried as to what they are. I'm sexually active and have been with the same partner for 3 years and have had no issues before. I've looked on the internet but can't find anything similar looking. Any insight would be appreciated. Thankyou.

DO you mean the prominent 'ridge' that runs down from the head of your penis? If not, can you specifically locate the bumps you are concerned about?

Yes thats exactly what I'm on about. It is painless and doesn't cause me any discomfort. Any ideas?

What the ridge looks like is a continuation of your frenulum. Obviously the bit that starts on the underneath of the head of your penis looks fine, but then it progresses further down the shaft of your penis that I think may not be typical. What it looks like is that your frenulum was supplied with, or had linked to it a specific blood vessel, that again, may not be typically the case. It may be that the blood flow has actually been lost and it has now partly solidified or only has a restricted flow.

This may have come about because of the way in which your penis has developed, or be due to some kind of trauma the penis has experienced. If it was a blood vessel and it is not functioning as it normally would probably the amount on miniature veins that exist in the area are making up for lost supply. There could be some entirely different explanation, obviously.

The only people that may know is a human physiologist or a urologist .....

Do you think it could possibly be either HPV or herpes? I've tried to find someone with a similar situation but I couldn't find anything like it all over the internet .....

Certainly do not look like a wart of any kind, so I doubt whether it is a sexual related disease, the only specialist that would know for sure is a Urologist ... get it checked out if you need to achieve peace of mind.
