bunion and hammertoe

Hello,

I've had a severe bunion and hammertoe for several years. My podiatrist perscribed orthotics several years ago and they work very well. I also have flat feet. I had an arthritic flareup recently and got a shot which helped a lot. The surgeon advises me to have the surgery but I've heard too many bad foot surgery stories and just want to get the shots periodically unless I can't walk. My surgery isn't an easy one since the bunion is severe. I can only wear one type of sneaker so that's what I do. I'm 68 and realize things will not get better on their own and may get worse. Any advice?

David
