I had bunion surgery along with toe fusion 14 weeks ago. My foot is still very sore & bruised in some spots.i have numbness on my big toe and directly below that on my foot.i also have hard scar tissue on the back of my 2nd & 3rd toe. i am having difficulty walking and finding a comfortable shoes to wear. looking for advice ... my recovery is taking a lot longer than expected.

Has Anyone else experienced a long recovery from this surgery?

Last year i had bunion surgery and a joint replacement and pin on my big toe. for 13 months i had pain and continued to limp. my doctor recommended rocker bottom shoes and orthotics which kept allot of the weight off my big toe. I chose New Balance athletic shoes with a rocker bottom. In June of this year I had surgery on the same foot and while under anesthesia, the doctor removed the artificial joint and pin. Although my toe is not fused, it might as well be since I don't have a joint. I don't have a significant amount of pain with it, probably because the other surgical area (ankle) hurts more and I'm focusing on that, but I still have pain and my scar area is very sensitive.Incidentally, 14 weeks is not a very long time. Why do you have scar tissue under your other toes?
