In the Eropean union, Pharmacists, when needed can give you a International medication passport, a unofficial document in pocket sice.
Most country's do accepted it, however It's always a risk.

because it's a controlled drug you need to get in touch with the home office well before you travel as the country you're going to may have different rules to the UK, so it will affect you taking it out and then also bringing it back. Have a look on nhs choices website. Plus, your doctor will need to issue a statement saying it is legally prescribed, as previous poster said.
