Hi, I am 3 weeks post op and I get a lot of burning!! I saw my surgeon 2 days ago and he said everything looks totally normal for this stage so I’m presuming it’s normal...... 😫 Hopefully someone else can offer some advice too! Take care x

Hi Ladies,
i am 5 wks post A&P with TOT today. In the first 3+wks, i had awful burning. Using ice helped as well as coconut oil or Vaseline to ease some of the dryness. There were not any signs of infection so my doc said this was how to handle. They did warn that sometimes it can continue intermittently as sutures dissolve. Hope both of you get some relief. For now, mine not so bad, but i know from exam by doc i have lots more stitches to dissolve. I also took showers when it got too bad...a site bath might also help if ok’d by your doc. I also used a peri-bottle with warm water.

However I had the soreness and burning after both. I totally recommend the extra virgin coconut oil and sitz bath. I found great relief with these. If you don’t want the expense of a sitz ‘bath a normal washing up bowl of about 11” -12”in diameter fits into a regular toilet bowl (lid up) and works well. The one my husband found had two handles? to help lift, and a ridge around that sat over the edge of the toilet bowl. Cost about 2 pounds. Just put a few inches of warm water in and sit and relax for a few minutes. I used 3 or 4 times a day to begin with and now less. Don’t add anything except maybe a spoonful of coconut oil. For ease of BM s (after trial and error) found one laxido morning and a 400 capsule of magnesium citrate evening worked well. Still have major anxiety from time to time!! However my recovery to date seems textbook. My only other advice is rest, rest, and rest!!
Hope this helps.
Wishing you a good recovery.

I would not advice anything in vagina until all your stitches are gone.. It will cause soggy stitches and may affect healing.. I would only shower not bath or six as this has same affect. I know some say but I would only listen to your consultant on this one. I would just run around d vulva with some coconut oil but not inside. Ice is a good idea too.
Sorry you are suffering but please speak to consultant if concerned.x

Almost six weeks out from sff and still burning sensations on and off. Inside, but also between the labia on the outside. Also still a sort of pressure feeling on the pubic bone and at this moment a very annoying itch. I don't know what's normal to be feeling but this is what I'm experiencing.
