Hi junelieju, oh there's a surprise! I have persistent burning too, which got so bad i ended up in the doctors this week. Have you got gastritis? It sounds like the same symptoms as mine! You need specific medication for this i hope they sort you out

Are you lactose intoerant? Can you have milk? That or Gaviscon? It might help! What did you eat?

If you can tolerate milk, try that. It is a great antacid and it works for me. If that doesn't work, try over the counter antacid tablets and avoid fatty, rich and spicy foods. A burning stomach is common with IBS.

You could always try gin! 😈

Depending on the person, a constant burning/gnawing pain can be perfectly normal for somebody who has IBS.
If you can stomach it, try Gaviscon or any other antacid formulation (such as Rennee) after meals - normally this helps me with the pain after eating. Good luck!

I find Gaviscon very paletable in tablet form, especially the flavoured variety. Some of the liquid versions aren't too bad either such as the mint one.
