Burning in stomach

I have really bad burning in my stomach in the early hours of the morning when I am in bed, I have to prop myself up on 3 pillows to try and get back to sleep, the burning last for an hour or two after getting out of bed, then I am ok for the rest of the day, until I go to bed that night, I have been told I have diverticulitis in my sigmoid, and could also have IBS, I am taking 30mg of lansoprazole each morning, I also take gaviscon advance when I wake up in the early hours, though this does not help.

you might have a gastric ulcer or duodenal. that is how I felt every night. my then GI Specialist did an EGD and found the ulcer in the back of my stomach, they changed my PPI which helped and healed it. no eating after 6pm, not even water it you do...sips. i know with me, even water gave me horrible reflux. good
