burning out the virus

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have been making steady progress from the myriad of symptoms but on Mon work up with a sore throat and stuffy nose, very tired again. By the evening my temp was up to 102. I felt hot but no sweating (unusual for me!) and no pain/tingling anywhere - again usual for me.

The temkp continued to fluctuate and was again 101 at 3am.

Now settled - I'm wondering if its the latent virus burning itself out - at last.

I do get and did have a cold sore last week - caused by Herpes virus which has lurked for yrs.

Have had to take time off work and thinking ought to take tomorrow off and continue rest and recovery with the hope that I will actually come out the otherside of this illness!

Anyway else had similar??   I have always been convinced that it is avirus that would eventually burn itself out - I'm hoping that time has come as I am so tired of the myriad of symptoms and putting a positive spin on it all........

My experience of this shows a sort of regular cycle of a few fevery days then a spell of not fevery days. I find that my internal thermostat works poorest on the days just before and just after the fevers. I find the fevery days are preceeded by snuffly and a bit bloody nose which soon clears (two days three at most)  but day two of snuffles will always be feveryness starting. I have tried on these days, dressingto boost fever and being underdressed to keep cool, so far not really found that either has any long term impact though being cool approach always feels better. Rest does prolong the gap between outbreaks.... just my experience.

    Hi Andrew

    Thanks for your reply.

What you describe is very much what used to happen to me but it had settled to  a degree.

However I realsie that I have also taken my eye off the ball in the respect that I took a leap of faith 3mths ago - well started in March when I got the job in another city. So I have changed jobs, citys and homes and until Mon coped very well...tired ++ but otherwise not too bad.

However as I said in the original post on Mon my temp soared and sore throat and sinusitis took over. Have just been given Amoxycillin by the GP and still feel very rough but... I don't think this is a relapse but it does need handling with care to stop this happening.

Interestingly when my temp was up I had no pain - extraordinary for me! I just felt very warm - not sweaty and very comfi in bed. So the brain must have been producing or not producing something which normally makes me feel soo uncomfortable. The hypothalmus is involved in temp regulation so guess its something to do with that but was too ill to mention to the GP today.   I have occassionally of late had a similar feeling when in the pool - weightless excercise -  but this is only very recently

Anyway hope this makes sense...I intend to rest and relax a lot over the w/end..got some good books to read and hope pick up again soon.

    Regards

Yes I've had similar symtpoms and dust mite allergy makes it worse. I have to take myraid steps to keep their numbers down. My immune system just can't deal with them at all!
