Burning pressure feeling behind nose

Hi ladies

This is a long shot. It may sound silly. For months now I've had a burning sensation when I breath in behind the bridge of my nose (like in my face). The pressure headaches at my temples, forehead and back of head are terrible. I just don't know what this burning feeling is. I've had the camera up my nose and my sinuses are clear. My ears are ringing and sometimes feel like I've been put under water. However my ears have been checked and they are not bunged up. Doctor's think I'm mad. Could hrt make things worse ? Any advice xx

HI Michelle   I also have pain in my sinuses above my eyebrows, forhead behind my ears....my massage therapist told me my shoulder blad muscles are so tight that it spreads to my neck -up and over my head and into my sinuses.I memorized her hand movements onmy face and am able to do them myself.  I thought I had a sinus infection- wasted money on Antibiotics and it is still there..albeit it comes  and goes...I use cold compresses on my face. and I am correcting my posture with my Massage Therapist with exercises.  So I make sure I am sitting and walking tall,,,and the pain goes away.  I feel like crying a lot. When the pain in my face happens.

This is the second time in my life that tightness had built up so much it spread into my head....it has taken me two months with a therapist to not be on Codeine.  Find the right Therapist.  i went though four till I found Anna.

Hi Michelle. That doesn't sound silly at all. Sometimes it's hard to describe a symptom to make people understand the feelings/sensations/location/type of pain you are getting isn't it? I didnt have the facial feelings, but did have the tight head/pressure headaches that made me feel off balance & really tired kind of out of it, but this has virtually gone since being on hrt from 1/4/16. I used to get 4 or 5 a week of these intense all day headaches like someone had put a tight swimming cap on my head; about 4wks into the hrt (estrogen gel nightly/200mg progesterone tabs days 15-26) these started to disappear, & i hardly get any now. xxx

      Hi there

Glad to hear you are getting on better with the headaches. I went on HRT 12 weeks ago. The anxiety has eased. The headaches are every day still. I use Evorel 50 patches and 100mg in the morning for 14 days of the month. I wonder if my estrogen or progesterone needs adjusting ?

Hi Michelle. glad your anxiety has eased. I read on another post on here today that another lady has come off evorel after a few days as her mood dipped dramatically, & another lady just changed from evorel to a different one to as she didn't feel it was helping her (beverley the 2nd lady I think). so i would definately look into changing the evorel part to something else. also regarding the progesterone: 1) my meno specialist doc said to take the progesterone at night before bed & 2) I would ask your doc asap about upping the progesterone to 200mg as that is the dose on the leaflet for days 15-26 of cycle. Then give it AT LEAST 4wks & see if you get improvement (even minimal improvement shows it's worth trying for a 3mth period for full effect). Hope this helps hun. xxx
