BURNING SENSATION AND PURPLE COLOUR TO ANAL RIM -WHAT COULD IT BE? WARNING PICTURE INCLUDED.

PLEASE HELP

i have had a lot of anxiety and stress when it comes to my bowels since having a pressure sensation in my rectum at the end of November last year, which then led to thrombosed hemhorroids because of the pressure making me feel that i constantly needed to either pass wind or have a bowel movement.

anyway long story short - the pressure sensation has gone, however was left with muscle pain to my anal sphincter after my colonoscopy in january - which took a month or so heal. colonoscopy results were also fine. throughout end of feb and all of march i had no symptoms in this area and things were better (apart from my anxiety and always scared i was going to be constipated).

however, on the 2nd april i started with a burning sensation around my anal rim and when i passed wind it burned. no bleeding. i put this down to maybe wiping to hard/much when having bowel movements due to loose skin left from my thrombosed hemhorroids.

i tried home remedies such as warm baths, ice packs, hemhorroid cream, cleaning the area by only patting instead of wiping to hard with just plain water to see if this would help. no joy!

yesterday gave in and rang my doctors who wasnt sure but ??some sort of infection. started me on timodine cream 3x a day for 1 week to see if improves symptoms.

as you cant see your bottom very clearly in a mirror, i asked my husband to take a pic to see what it looked like and if there was any evidence of infection.

SEE PICTURE (excuse the state as i said trying not to clean too much)

it looks purple and has a constant burning pain around the area.

anyone any ideas what it could be? or how to treat it?

So the purplish ring is veins , which are normal in and around the anus. the skin tone in the anal region will always differ from surrounding skin. Thus when you get external hem's you will have a purple/blue buldge around the anus. Now on the top and bottom part there looks to be a slight whitish buldge, which could be a secondary infection. but with no redness, its hard to tell. One thing i can tell you is , try using Babywipes or washing after using the toilet. if any excess fecal matter is left around the area, that's when you will have that underlying burning sensation. almost like a itching. try taking metamucil and drinking a lot of water .people often associate metamucil with being constipated but what that will do is soften your stool allowing it to pass more easy and cleaning out your inside...less wiping..
