Hi gillian .... sure have ... tomorrow I will be 11 weeks post op - I started to feel it in week 3 too - around and in scar, side, front and back of  thigh very tender upon touching .... I understand that this is all part of the ehaling taking place ... if you are up to it, not too sqeamish, you might want to watch the surgery on youtube - After watching in horror and amazement, I had so much more respect and understanding of what actually took place - be gentle with your self - warm hug

Hi Gilliam! I would call your consultant tomorrow to ask if this is normal? Poor you. Please don't over do things! It's not easy ! I am my Hubby's carer! So its not easy for me! But a day at a time! I will be 12weeks post op tomorrow! Having reflexology and swimming when I can regards Amanda

Hi it's probably nerves settling done I have an old hip scar from when I was 12 and it's still a bit numb doesn't cause me any problems. Try some anti inflammatory meds they should help like ibuprofen if your ok with those

Hi, I was on 2 crutches for a couple of weeks, then went to one and by 5 weeks was walking unaided.  Went for my 6 weeks check up with Consultant last Friday and he was very pleased when I walked in on my own steam as it where.  Just take it day by day and if you feel you are OK with l crutch, just do it gradually (unless of course you have been told to stay on 2 for the full 6 weeks) x
