Burning sensation for 3 weeks - Anyone else experienced this?

Posted , 4 users are following.

i have had a burning sensation in and around my anal area which started 3 weeks ago. no bleeding,no discharge.

what could it be? i first put it down to maybe wiping to hard/much but ive been only patting for the last 3 weeks since is started.

i started anusol hc suppositries on saturday twice daily and ointment commenced yesterday (had to wait for delivery) 4 times daily.

has anyone else ever experienced this? if so, how long did it last? and what treatment is best for it?

stressing me out.

any help advise would be helpful.

    hey

yea I have burning around that area as well . it's been going on for awhile now...

could be internal hemmohoids or a fissure.

Like you I dont bleed or have discharge. It's worse after bm

modified soo much ....stopped wiping...sitz bath twice a day....fiber....water....etx....

still ongoing. not as bad but still

oh no! how long have you experienced it for? its been 3 weeks for me now.

i had a colonscopy back in jan as i had various other problems back end of last year - that came back all clear, and my symptoms resolved. was left with some loose skin after thrombosed hemhorroids so got anxious that i wasnt clean - so tended to wipe to much not realising the damage. so i put it down to that?

      but its still going 😦

it only feel burning to the lower end of my anal canal. and burns when passing wind.

      no blood, discharge or itch.

      months now sadly.

but been dealing with back issues for a few years now.

had colonoscopy in june and it showed hemmorhoids so banding was done with no effects but I wasn't smart as well.

I find not wiping and cleaning with water helps but not 100.....waiting for to see a surgeeon to get another scope but will be a long wait now.

its depressing...as I am very into fitness so had to put a hold on that and a gay male so been preventing me from living really

do you find burning in the rectum and anal canal?

    hi Julie

try massaging sodacream around the area as that does help with itching and burning sensation and as the other post suggest up your water, no straining when going to the loo for a BM and keep it all soft (not loose) down there! also have you tried germoloids ointment and suppositories that in my opinion works better than anusol?

    take care.

is it just the normal germaloid? not one with steriod in?

yep normal germolid without steroid there available over the counter in the UK. the active ingredients in them are different so you mite find it works better for you! good luck! any questions let me know ....

im going to give it ago. got some on my essential shop yesterday.

how long do you suggest doing it for?

for no more than 7 days ideally but within the 7 days to use it before and after BM (max of 4 times a day) but i find before and after works because in between its use specially since you say its itching i apply sodacream as sodacream forms a protective layer over the vulnerable area, reducing the risk of infection, and also contains a mild local anaesthetic to soothe discomfort. you say there is no bleeding and doesnt seem like its hemorrhoids but it could be a fissures i would therefore suggest placing the cream/ointment that you got inside and outside the anus with the applicator that it comes within the pack.

please feel free to message if you have any questions even if its to update us. stay safe x

Hi, yes exactly the same. Started with a bit of blood on the toilet paper followed by burning/tightness around the anus, much worse late evening and after BM. The burning can be intense, almost like acid around the anus. The burning is much worse around an hour after a BM and can last for hours which is very uncomfortable to sit.. I've had stool inflammation tests and numerous CT scans over the years. I had a similar episode two years ago. Dr has prescribed suppository and ointment. I find Ibruprofen help.

i have no blood, discharge or itchyness.

just the burning sensation especially around my perianal area - and noticed these last couple of days worse after BM. i cant see or any haemhorroids in this area. i put it down to maybe wiping too hard / much? but its been over 3 weeks now and hasnt subsided. i have no idea what im dealing with.

do you have flare up? like it comes and goes?
