Burning skin feeling

One thing that's making me crazy is how my skin feels. Especially on my buttocks. Has anyone had this. Like there and back of my legs. Like if i sit I feel I have to constantly shift around because the pain is awful. And my skin feel burning and almost "swollen" or itchy like. Hard to describe. But I have no issues visible with my skin. I have no sore or anything. It just feels awful. Sometimes if I sit too long it even goes numb. Could this be from Fibro? Thanks.

I am sorry that you have FM it's difficult to manage.
I have had it for many years. It's always a matter of coping and management.
Sometimes a burning sensation could mean nerve issues or muscles over worked . Or having a flair. Try using a hot muscles rub OTC is what I use on areas that's burn and use moisturizers for the itching. Also purititis can be a result of medication or supplements. OTC meds for itching can resolve most itching. Allergy meds or there are many OTC skin ointments for itching .

Hi Lisa
Yep it does sound like part of fibromyalgia. I suffer with that aswell, it could just be in random places each day. Unfortunately it's one of many of our symptoms. I went to GP and he told me it's called allodynia, also the numbness and tingling I had I'm upper left thigh was something called meralgia paraethesitis basically trapped nerve of the thigh.
I try taking Epsom salts in a warm bath, sometimes helps a little. Worth a try Lisa.
Gentle hugs to you

Awww thanks. Yeah lately it's been my bum. If I sit it hurts goes numb. Nothing there burns. So weird. I had a few UTI past month (2) so I'm Leary on the bath although I do love epsom salt baths. A warm packs eems to help and when I sleep I wake its not as bad. But even back of my upper thigh when I sit and hits the chair or whatever. Thanks. I appreciate the comments.

This is the first time I have looked at a forum for fibromyalgia and your post is the first one I came to. I am sitting sideways as I type this post, and will soon shift to the other side. I have the same kind of burning sensation from my mid-back down to the back of my thighs, with the majority of my pain being in my buttocks.
I too, have looked repeatedly for a rash or something visible, but I don't see anything. I told my husband yesterday it felt like a bad sunburn. Better yet, I said I feel like someone laid my body in a burning skillet.
I just wanted you to know I feel for you and will be watching this thread for suggested solutions.
Blessings,
Janan

It's so weird because some days it hurts so bad and I can't even tolerate it. Other days doesn't get as much. It's so crazy. But when it hurts I shift side to side also.
