Burning skin sensation

I've posted about this before but i dont see too many people with this symptom. My skin is has been burning for tbe past two weeks now. The burning is mainly in my lower back but pretty much all over the back. (The back feels like a tightening when it does it) Sometimes the arm, legs, and feet. Yesterday I had an episode of the chest. This is driving me nuts!! I know i ve had this before when around period time and left when period arrived. But this month its been no period so far on day 30 of cycle. Anyone ever heard of such a thing? And what hormone causes this? Even my private burns and achey sometimes. I'm losing it..😭😭

Yes, I get burning, especially my feet. And you are right, when my period would come the burning would go away. I'm thinking this is our version of hot flashes and it's probably the drop in estrogen. It makes sense that estrogen would be at it's highest when you get your period. And then again probably during ovulation.

I missed my last period as well, and the burning and flu feelings, joint aches, headaches, have been bad the entire month, never let up. I'm assuming I'll probably get a flooding period when it comes next since I had an ultrasound which showed my lining to be thick.

Also, my sister, 5 years post meno, still gets burning in her bra area. It's so bad sometimes she can't even wear her bra! She has also been getting panic attacks for the past two years. I really think that when my period finally goes away for good, then I'm going to go on bhrt. I just don't want to do it now because I feel like it will prolong my period. Just not sure???

Hi Mary . This is how my Peri started . Burning in leg and then all over the body . Have been through all possible assessments including MRI and ct . Found nothing . There is a forum I think neuropathy that someone mentioned this burning and some of us replied . Yes even private area is burning and aching . All my tests results were normal . Burnings and all other symptoms are much worse in summer time . But it gets better . Just hang in there

Hi Gema, so is this a symptom of neuropathy or is it from perimenopause?

Gema do you still get the burning? How long you ve been in peri?

Hi Mary doctors always want to exclude everything and as not enough research was done on menopause they always want to find a logic in all that is happening . Most of them just simply won’t admit that this all can be peri related as it is not described in literature . They checked everything and did not find a thing including neuropathy .  They just presumed that I may have it as they wanted to find the nature of my burnings . They never did and my mom tsaid last me that my grandma had the same thing and she was telling that my skin is burning . Yesterday I was standing on my feet and they were burning as I had a sunburn . Them my shoulders then around neck area  and my hands . I just learned how to live with it . I am in  Peri for over a year . Still have regular periods .  Please also read the forum 66 peri symptoms . This lady described all symptoms that we can experience. This forum saved my life . Also Long walks also sage tea

Hi Gemma... GP'S are at a loss when it comes to the change... Many women sail through it while me, yourself and other ladies at this site find it hellish... I think in the future it will be recognised as or classed as a condition as it affects so many women in awful ways... Many women years ago were sent to assilums as they thought they were going mad. I and other ladies have shared the 66 symptoms.. Right now as I write, I've headaches and most of the time now... And I won't go into the rest. These symptoms rock your world as they are so out of the blue and scary.. No one prepares you as each woman is different and its no Coincidence that we all have simular symptoms.. I am forever thankful for this site and the support from total strangers who have become a great source of help thought my menapause... Hang tight.. This too shall pass.. CK
