yup! Ive been there too. This is crazy how I feel like im responding to all the symptoms. Anyway, I thought I had Something wrong like shingles but No Rash or redness. it was usually my upper arms and ribcage area that burned like crazy. it lasted about 6 months on and off, my Dr. said its a PeriMenopause symptom. I havent felt the skin burning for a while but have moved on to burning mouth syndrome...It Never Ends UGH

yes, I suffer daily from this. my skins red and I get all kinds of diff burning sensations. everything from burning, stinging, numbness to what I can only describe as Indian burn. lately ive also been getting cold spots in these same places I have had burning in. this is the most bizarre stuff...bizarre to unbelievable. feels like I.m being in some unknown hell. mystery disease and hormones or all hormones? only 2 years into the bad stuff and I.m sooooo over it.

Hi LKi2019 - yes, Bizarre is an understatement - everytime i experience these episodes of burning body parts it makes me think that there is something terribly wrong with me. i spend endless amounts of time researching what this could be caused from....thyroid, fibromyalgia, etc. etc. i just had 5 nights of burning back waking me up at night - now today i feel like someone has sucked my brains out & on top of that my legs feel like i have no strength in them & its hard to walk - i just feel like crying, its just so overwhelming -

Hi Ladies,
Thought I would join this forum and was I happy to find out I am not alone in this burning skin issue!! Thought I was going insane...
I mostly burn at night, sometimes all over, sometimes feet only, sometimes patches here and there.
Suffered from all the symptoms of menopause.. tiredness, palpitations, moody, body aches and pains, anxiousness and and and...
Sometimes the bottom of my right leg specifically feel numb, but rubbing it helps... moving around helps with the burning again... but at night I can't really.. just lie waiting and hoping I fall asleep quickly...
Doctor did all tests from liver, kidneys, heart, you name it... nothing major wrong. He did find two things though... vitB12 deficiency and my hormones are totally wiped! so have been on vitb12 injections. I have high BP and on two meds of which one has symptoms of burning, etc... so he has weaned me off it... I did feel an improvement in burning but not nearly enough!!
Also as vitb12 def causes palpitations, burning, numbness, excessive belching and heartburn most of those symptoms seemed to vanish except the burning and numbness...
My doctor believes all my issues are related to my FSH result ... basically hormonal... he has prescribed and HRT called Angeliq (Estradot) and asked me to try this and come see him in two months with an update.
I however still have my uterus therefore this HRT has both progesterone and estrogen... now I worry about breast cancer and blood clots... OMG being a woman is hard...
And I am from SA and the heat here is immense... so that is NOT helpful... lol..
How are you ladies doing..?

Thank you very much for sharing. Your post is really helpful.
Which hormones were totally wiped out? Progesterone and oestrogen?
Totally agree that moving about helps with the burning.
It sounds like you have a pretty good doctor.
Yes that's so true about HRT, the worry about cancer etc.

Hi Ling
I have now visited my dr and he has referred me to a menopausal specialist... will only see him next month though..however my hormones are not depleted but my FSH is 100 and my estrogen is very low... so we will are what the meno specialist says. I am however battling such numbness in my legs ... I just don't know if it is a side effect from one of my BP tabs or what... I am so worried and my mind is telling me I have MS and I can only see my neurologist next month... I stay anxious and just so worried... my husband thinks I worry to much but I cant help it.
Sending hugs your way

Dear Tams, terribly sorry for the late reply as had not been clearing my mail! Is the leg numbness better? Which part of the leg is numb? Are u able to walk? Have u been reviewed by a neurologist before? Why do u suspect MS?
This is gonna sound cliché ... but try and relax, distract yourself with other interests. This uncontrollable anxiety and constant worrying could be an effect of the menopause.

Hi Ling
I went to see my dr yesterday and after a bunch of questions and check ups he explained what was happening in my body.. due to all my stress and the onset of of my hormones gone awry it has generated anxiety and this effects the blood flow in your body which leads to numbness on and off... as the blood flow changes... also due to my bad sleeping patterns it has affected my health and he has prescribed something that helps me to sleep through the night. I slept like a log last night and have experienced no major anxiety or numbness today... I was just very tired as he gave me a 20mg tab.. it knocked me for a loop.. so basically my hormones with no sleep has turned into anxiety causing me heightened issues.. I am taking it a bit slower now and trying to catch up on some sleep.. 😃

What was your sleeping pattern like?
What did he prescribe you and how long are u supposed to take it for?
Btw, do you have a lot of stuff stressing you?
This doctor is the menopause specialist?

Hi, Im 28 and i have the burning skin sensation, acid reflux, loose stools, tingling, electric shocks, dry skin, hair fall, vertigo, ear ringing, muscle twitches. I've done mris, blood tests, colonscopy, endoscopy, the works. everything was fine. then i finally did my hormonal tests and my estrogen was extremely low according the report i entered post menopause and my prolactin levels were high.the gynac has put me on birth control to regulate my hormones. its only been 11 days since ive been on it. but yes all this has alot to do with hormone fluctuation. i just hope all of this ends soon. its been 5 months now.

I know that this is quite an old post but I wanted to ask if any of you have had a burning sensation on your neck and in your ears? I am just off antibiotics for a dental abscess and want to see if this is a cause for concern because of that or if it is just hormones.
